  • This commercial came out just after MJ became uncool at my hi school, so me & my sister were mocking & insulting the dancer here. I'm sure you can guess what most of the insults were!

  • my friend nick's dad used to work for hostess and i remember his dad gave all the kids in my class a free bag of hostess barbesue was easily the best....good times

  • what ever happen to Hostess? suddenly they just vanished :/ BBQ was my facerate!

  • @DengrayKai211: They're owned by Frito-Lay Canada now, and are only sold at places like Price Chopper. If you live in Toronto, you can go there and buy a bag and relieve the memories.

  • OMG that is so awesome, I started singing the words, even 20 years later commercials seem to stay in your brain somehere

  • Old Dutch you say? I don't remember them having much of a foothold. Perhaps it's a regional thing, but I remember Humpty Dumpty as being the biggest rival. And even though they're owned and made by Lays now, Hostess still has the tangiest S&V on the market.

  • You can still get Hostess chips at some cut-price supermarkets. The Price Chopper in Pickering carries them, though, yes, they are now made by Lay's.

  • ok so i didnt make up this jingle then it was treal

  • This takes me back...there was a similar ad that used rock music. Those little Munchie dudes rocked out on guitars (I guess they're so talented with breakin' and all). I miss those chips. Kids would bring a large bag to school and it'd be there entire lunch!

  • Very retro! I remember my mom having those chips. (Her favorite was Bar-B-Q BTW)

    And now, it's called Lays.

  • Hostess and Old Dutch were waging a media war in the 80's to claim the most consumer sales.

I believe Hostess won out with sponsership and ad deals with the then hip Muchmuisc.

Hostess had some cool animated commercials back then but try and find any decent Hostess or Old Dutch commercials now.

  • I believe they're goblins.

  • they were called munchies

  • I know they were called munchies. But as to what SPECIES they are, I believe they are goblins.

  • called muchies because thats what they are. they represented what a munchie looked like, when you get the muchies these were the things that caused your muchies.Sorry but they were definitly not goblins.

  • When I was a kid I would look forward to those surprises in the bag like the WWF stickers, the baseball or basketball stickers or those Simpsons iron on thingys.

  • Hostess Chips are rad!

  • First veiw! woot

I don't know what the hell those little fuckers were suppost to be but they freaked me out as a kid!
