Madonna and Lady Gaga are unique and considered the queens of pop because they always evolve in sound, style, and dance. Not Janet Jackson or Beyonce. Beyonce may be a much better dancer but Beyonce always has the same dance style and sound.
Maybe I'm the few people who really really like this version of Vogue. I thought it was brilliant they mixed the beat of 4-minutes with it. The dance suits it perfectly too. For a 51-year-old woman to conceive and perform a concert like this, 25 years into her career, reinventing decade-old songs, is a phenomenal feat, and a big credit to how much heart and sweat this woman puts into her art. Let's see where the teeny-boppy divas today end up when they're 50.
I wish people would stop critisizing or complaining about what Madonna does. How is it some of you, people, can't just be happy with what you see?
I've been a fan for years and even though I prefer the reinvention version of vogue, I'm just happy that she was once again able to rework a 20-year-old song to great effects. @ajpunk21 Well, that's too much to say. Her dancers are great. They have to get through a hard casting. Besides, they're much younger than her. She couldn't do the jumps and somersaults they do. That doesn't mean that she's awesome too.
Lady GaGa is her own artist. I don't think she's trying to be Madonna. She's a different kind of songwriter, for one thing. For another, she's not a trained dancer as Madonna is, so her choreography is quite different to accommodate her movements. She's also quite young and oh so very talented; I wish I was going to live long enough to see GaGa at 50, but time is more limited for me so I'm just enjoying her now, as I've enjoyed Madonna throughout her long and stunning career.

@mediasansnom Well, you're entitled to your own opinion but most reputable music critics disagree. Yes, Madonna is one of Gaga's influences but so were Queen, Bowie, Elton John, and Andy Warhol. I don't know about coaches but since she studied at different music schools than Madonna, I doubt they are the same. Have you ever seen Madonna wear a hairbow? Or any of the other hats, veils, dresses, etc., that Gaga has designed for her? Gaga is her own artist, not a clone of anyone.
By far, the best song of the show. I saw this in Paris and i have to say that on the whole, this show was kinda disappointing. Just my opinion ! But this cover of vogue is just incredible (especially the end).

By sheer personality and drive alone, she has soared to many heights and achieved much more than her contemporaries. She and Cyndi Lauper both hit around the same time and muisc critics said Lauper would be the one with staying power and they labed Ms. M as a "flash in the pan." Guess they're eating their words 25+ years later. :)
To me hands down this is the best part of the DVD the choreography escalates from it's simplistic beginning, what really amazes me about this DVD and concert is how in the hell can M do all of this in high heel boots...just from a structural stand point it appears that the thoracic and lumbar curves of the back would become fatigued and would inhibit motion oh well maybe that is why she is M and I am well ...sitting here typing this to you LOL

no it's not :) the Voguing Madonna did on the 1990's show was what is considered Old Way now. After the documentary "Paris Is Burning" about the NY ball scene came out in 1990, new styles of Voguing came up, namely New Way, Vogue fem and Dramatics if I'm not mistaken...
... and there are many substyles to that as well, such as realness with a twist, control, soft and cunt etc... I'm saying that just because that performance could have been ovah if someone had educated Madonna about that, or if she had picked the right choreographers.

Saw her in Houston. Sold out stadium. Southern crowd went NUTS. Tons of rednecks singing to Vogue and Like A Prayer. Awesome.

The female dancers look like the Vegas dancers in that one scene in Showgirls were Nomi and Crystal have the short black bob wigs!!! haha they wanted Madonna to be Nomi but she said that she had a problem with the script

Madonna is a true artist and she has paid the price for being unique, innovative and visionary in her approach to music and dance. She has taken has criticism but, this is a 51 year old woman who is still musically relevant. She can dance with dancers half her age. I have nothing but love for her.

@ppaulst ... I totally agree. And by her own admission, she knows she's not the best singer, or dancer, or actress but she doesn't need to be any of those things. By sheer personality and drive alone, she has soared to many heights and achieved much more than her contemporaries. She and Cyndi Lauper both hit around the same time and muisc critics said Lauper would be the one with staying power and they labed Ms. M as a "flash in the pan." Guess they're eating their words 25+ years later. :)

To me hands down this is the best part of the DVD the choreography escalates from it's simplistic beginning, what really amazes me about this DVD and concert is how in the hell can M do all of this in high heel boots...just from a structural stand point it appears that the thoracic and lumbar curves of the back would become fatigued and would inhibit motion oh well maybe that is why she is M and I am well ...sitting here typing this to you LOL

pity her live dvds have so many camera cuts U cant get a proper feel of the show, with stupid slow motion which takes away from the energy and feel of this great preformer, constant constant cuts that give me a headache, how many camera cuts are in this 4.29 segment, shame as she is amazing live

what she does here has nothing to do with voguing. It's a mess. It's a shame cause Madonna could do so much better. Look at her performance in 1990 for the mtv awards; that turned me inside out. This one here... I don't know about that.

no it's not :) the Voguing Madonna did on the 1990's show was what is considered Old Way now. After the documentary "Paris Is Burning" about the NY ball scene came out in 1990, new styles of Voguing came up, namely New Way, Vogue fem and Dramatics if I'm not mistaken...

@ChockedBazooka Seems to me when Vogue came out and Madonna performed it - she did give a shout out to the Vogue Culture. Check out the video for the song. That was then and this is now. Give her credit for adding a new and up to date twist on an old song. This version is quite inventive and fresh.

Um...I don't think Lady Gaga will have the success of longevity that Madonna has. Plus, part of Madonna's success is her face and style, it's iconic and unique. We all know what Lady Gaga looks like and it ain't pretty. What about at the end of the day? Gaga can't keep it up. She's like Grace Slick or Cyndi Lauper. They are both tied to a specific style and Madonna left them in the dust 20 years ago. I can't see Lady Gaga in a simple black dress, Madonna can pull any look off.
