  • Aww! They're so cute. I'm getting some on Wednesday! :)

  • whats the song playing called? and nice ottos i just bought a couple today(:

  • I love otocicluses! They are so entertaining, and hardy fish! :D

  • i am thinking about getting otos how many should i get for a 15gal tank which already has two black skirt tetras, two zebra danio, and a baby bala shark.

  • If they didn't get stuck in my aquarium filter I would buy more of them. The one I had that had survived for over a week and seemed ok, got stuck twice in my aquarium filter. I rescued him/her the first time, but it was too late the second time.

  • @kiseitai2 aww that is so sad. :-( Yes they can get stuck in the strong flow. Poor lil things..

  • I bought one and his name is Carl :) Just a quick question, should I keep him with other Otos? Because it's just him, four goldfish, and a snail. Will he get lonely?

  • I love otocinclus so much, they're so playful with each other (I love it when they play tag XD)

  • I have two of these, and they eat flake food as well as algae. If you let them eat too much flake food, they stop eating algae though, so you can give them algae flakes. Also, one of mine is very large and I think its pregnant.

  • I love otos!!! I've got 6!

  • cute...

  • HEY CAPEKATE!! its Stradius :]

  • I just bought 2 today to keep my 10 gal clean, they are living with 1 female betta and 3 corys

  • How are your otos now? Love these guys. Will be having hopefully about 5 or 6 when I get everyone transferred to my cycling 30. :) I have 2 now.

  • awesome! i just bought an oto yesterday to put with my five tiger barbs! overnight, it cleaned an entire fake plant.

  • good taste in fish. my sisters got tiger barbs. and the family tank has got black widow tetras and otocinclus catfish to lol.

  • my tank has no algae but they love to eat boiled cucumber...

  • These are the best fish in the world for keeping the pesky brown algae under control IMHO.

  • You are so right about that! These oto's love to eat diatoms! I would recommend them to any one with that pesky brown algae, these guys are little worker bee's lol..

  • i love my otos! they are the cutest little things.

  • due guys i dont understand. mine are very unactive and theyve lived in my tank for 3 months and they are so unactive!!!

  • thats because they are doing their job and sucking the side of your tank

  • what "was" the temp in your tank when you wrote this comment?

  • they look small, just like mine. mine also keep chasing each other around like yours, so they will hopefully mate. i have four of unknown gender, so i hope they mate. my tank is like a jungle now, so they should feel like it for sure. but i just got them.

  • I hear that it is very hard to get otos to breed in home aquariums. Good luck with yours.. arn't they the greatest lil guys? :-) They do like a planted tank, Im sure your guys are very happy there! good luck, they are known to be sensitive fish and if you can get them to survive over a month you should be good to go.

  • thanks! they are great, and they like to play. one will go to the corner, and go down to the gravel, and follow the corner to the surface. they are cute!

have you? in that case, i won't worry about breeding. i'll just be happy with those four. plus i may get a loach or lil pleco for the tank. the fish store has plecos that don't get bigger than 4"! they are a genetic alteration, like a "dwarf" pleco.

  • I was thinking about buying one. Would one be okay in a ten gallon do you think?

  • (don't know if you were talking to me or not)

For sure. They only get 2 inches, and only after a while .

  • Thanks!

  • is it okay to only have one in a tank? i have one in my 10 gallon already. Or do you need to have them in groups? because if i get another im scared my tank will be overstocked

  • ottos do prefer groups, ive got 5 and they are always hanging around near eachother, they are quite comfortable around the larger goldfish which may be a bad thing in a couple years

  • very helpful video as im thinking of buying some otos for my tank, they look quite active i presumed they would be shy like my panda cories!

  • hi, the dont seem to be shy at all. They are always out and are really great little guys. They also eat the diatoms that form in the tank. ( the brown algea).

  • @capekate Mine is shy, but I think it's simply because it's only him, and no other of his species ;(

  • heehee '-) Im STILL learning, one fish from another, thanks for the lessons :-D

  • LOL ya know, I never thought of it, but your right, those black skirt tetras DO look like angelfish! ;-) As I was shooting the video, the black skirts had to come into the corner to see what the fuss was all about! thanks for stopping by my video! :-)

  • LOL and the angel fish looks like their supervisor '-) Speedy little workers aren't they :-D
