@FishingAlberta Twenty pound braid is OK, but I would go a little heavier on the leader, at least 12 lb. since you can hook some really big smallmouth and you always have a chance of hooking a musky or pike in the same areas (both would be looking for smallmouth to feed)...God bless you, Italo
@ItaloLabignan But, there's no bass or musky in the area. The walleye lake I usually fish has a little population of pike. So which do u think is better for trout, walleye and medium size pike? 10lb. or 20lb. test braid. and what lb. fluoro. leader? (sorry if I ask tooo many ques.)
Hey Italo, do you know what lb. test is good if you only have 1 rod and you're fishing for small trout, walleye and pike and what lb. test fluorocarbon leader should I use??? I really need help.
@FishingAlberta I would fish 10 lb. test Sufix braid line which has 4lb. test monofilament diameter. That's light enough to cast small lures like a Vibrax #1 and Rapala Countdown #3 & #4 for small trout, and also strong enough to fish jigs, spinnerbaits and larger Rapalas for walleye & pike. I use the Suffix 100% fluorocarbon leader material and it performs really well...God bless you, Italo
@FishingAlberta Twenty pound test braid will also work (line diameter of 8 lb. test monofilament). It's just that you will be able to cast small lures farther with the 10 lb. braid....God bless you, Italo
i really love your videos....im from finland and the show in here is called ''kalareissuja'' :D .....it means something like ''fishing roadtrips''....i love fishing very much because it is so relaxing and nice at the same time...and by the way i caught my first ever pike perch last week and i was very happy :DD....sorry for my bad english, but anyway i really enjoy ''canadian sportfishing!'' ...oh and the feeling when you wake up at 06 pm and go fishing and the sun is just rising..OOH MY GOD! :D
@TheJaigee Glad to hear you are enjoying our TV shows. I filmed in Finland years ago and shot a 1-hr TV special at the Rapala factory in Lhati, FInland and in the Olin Archipelago. We fished for rainbow trout and big pike. I fished with a well known Finnish anglers by the name of Yuka Leno...God bless you, Italo
@simo782b Thank you. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to know that people enjoy them and hopefully also learn some helpful tips....God bless you, Italo
What about 20 lb. braid with 8lb. fluorocarbon leader. Is that ok?

@ItaloLabignan Oh ok. So I guess 10lb. test braid would work. What lb. test fluorocarbon leader should I use then?

@ItaloLabignan So 20lb. test is no good?

@ItaloLabignan I thought twenty pound test is the same diameter as 6 lb. mono? I use power pro and sometimes Sufix performance braid.
