I have known for years that this song was written by Mac Davis and it took Mac 15 years for him to convince Elvis to record it. Mac said he wrote it for Elvis and would not give it to anyone else. guess I misread that information. Elvis said he could not do it justice. Lisa did do a great job with this.

I don't think it was a personal message....... When Elvis recorded this song it was a different time in America. Everybody did not have attitudes and think it was only about being a racist, it was about rough times for some and poverty. She recorded this with her dad because she could go into the studio and do it for the cause of her foundation. Why are some people always so judgmental and jumping to conclusions when others are trying to do good in the world?

I like LMP alot, however I do not understand why she has taken such a dark side to her music. I did see her on some day time show a few years ago doin "dirty Laundry" RAW, and it was so great with only couple guitars and her singing as she should. Lisa, PLEASE Start singing some uplifting /Fun songs. We all know its in you. I feel as though your holding back and trying way to hard to "NOT" be like your dad.
