The purpose of insurance is to mitigate financial risk. You cannot buy fire insurance after your house has burned down, nor can you buy cancer insurance after you get cancer. People just don't understand what insurance is. The problem is that people have decided that insurance is some sort of cost-sharing system, which it's not. The sooner we get the meddling leftists out of the insurance industry, the sooner medical costs will collapse to rational levels.

The reason why many people oppose the current bill is because of the lack of a public option, more than 78% of Americans support heathcare reform of some kind, and if Obama was really shoving the bill down our throats he wouldn't bother with a up or down vote and use reconcilliation, so your Fox "news" talking points don't hold water or logic, and yes there are over a 100 republican idea's in the bill, that's why the current bill is weak and many liberals don't support it.

The purpose of insurance is to mitigate financial risk. You cannot buy fire insurance after your house has burned down, nor can you buy cancer insurance after you get cancer. People just don't understand what insurance is. The problem is that people have decided that insurance is some sort of cost-sharing system, which it's not. The sooner we get the meddling leftists out of the insurance industry, the sooner medical costs will collapse to rational levels.

The reason why many people oppose the current bill is because of the lack of a public option, more than 78% of Americans support heathcare reform of some kind, and if Obama was really shoving the bill down our throats he wouldn't bother with a up or down vote and use reconcilliation, so your Fox "news" talking points don't hold water or logic, and yes there are over a 100 republican idea's in the bill, that's why the current bill is weak and many liberals don't support it.

The problem with Obama and the Democrats is that they're too busy trying to do their job properly, in that the idea behind a Democracy is that people work together to come up with compromises. But the game is a shuffled and screwed up that you can't play fair anymore.
Maybe, MAYBE, Obama's version of civil politics will become a legacy that turns away from Bush's ramjam approach that things could change, whether anything Obama proposes passes or not. But our country is failing on so many levels.

I just don't know which way to go on the issue cause I'm very healthy, have never had health insurance and don't really need it yet. Thats what a good friend of mine thought he was healthy just to find out that he needed hearth surgery. The guy moved to France. He was lucky, because he has family there. And I'm from the UK, the NHS has not had any major reforms that have changed the scope of everything and that started in 1948. Changes may have been made that effect how the budget of it works but thats called common sense.

The USA has prisons, a police force, an army, the dmv, teachers, scientists, and many other things, if your going to call doing something that saves both money and lives socialist but not other things then you're being selective.
