@TheGameBreedPit I'm pretty sure commercially prepared raw chicken is not a source of worms. The only meat that *used* to be a source of worms is pork, and that only applies outside of the US now. So if you live in South America, I take back my comment. I doubt your dog had trichinosis. Regardless, monthly heartworm prevention kills intestinal worms as well, so you have nothing to worry about. Your dog probably got worms from eating wild animal poop.
@burninforyou Excellent point on where the worms likely came from. An alternative to the monthly pills (for those not comfortable with it or wanting another method) is feeding Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth to your dogs with a little yogurt or goats milk. Wolf Creek Ranch (google it, easy to find) is a great site to both purchase and read up on the benefits for both your pooch and humans. Fresh natural raw food is great for almost every dog!
and also i hear the raw diet stop extra shedding and pet odor is this true and i have allergies really bad so i was thinking if my dog is healthy and shedding at the right time of year i can handle it well i dont know maybe you understand what im saying maybe not just reply if you can thanks!
false. raw eating is fine. and actually reduce chems and allergens and hair by 60-70% and poop breaks down into powder cuz everything in the meat is digested other than powdered bones
this will help u anytime of the year. great benefits eh? :)
just let the dog eat nothing else thats what in front of her and keep it with her or him for a few times a day. no kibble. if she rejects it. take it back until next feeding. the dog will learn to eat it. thats how i got my first dog onto it. now its a breeze even pups have no problem meeting meat. :)
@Kahnweiler Leaving out the bone will give them a calcium deficiency. Raw bones are safe if they are big enough for the dog (small ones are a choking hazard). Cokked bones are the ones that risk internal injuries.
always make sure that your dog understands that you are the food provider. never let a dog decide that the dog runs meal time. follow that and raw meat is perfect. :)

@nerthie21 That is a great intestinal wormer, but has not been proven effective as a heartworm preventative.

I wud recomend you stripping the flesh from the bone. The bone may split and tear them up.
