There is no better B3 player than Dr. Lonnie Smith...he IS the best!!!!! Check out his facebook group: "Dr. Lonnie Smith...Funkiest B3 Burner On The Planet!!!"
Nasvhville has an almost non-existent jazz scene. Fortunately, we've been honored to have rare appearances by Joey D, or Dr. Smith, or Larry Goldings or Tony Monaco about once every 2 years.
screwed up my comment. here's the rest. The other instruments mid-high freq. sound fine. The snare drum sounds thin and toms lack depth. If it were just a recording problem it would be apparent in other instrumentation as well. The drums may be good but tuned really poorly.
I actually shot this with my still camera, and this is all the footage it would hold... I do though have many great shots if you have any interest, let me know. I forget the guy's name on the drums, but he was keeping up nicely.

Can you go wrong with Lonnie Smith? Check out Billy Holloman to hear someone who can grind the Hammond.

"The Whip" a composition by Dr. Lonnie Smith himself. Forget the stupid comments about the sound. It is just excellent!

That snare sounds horrible!

Agreed man!The entire kit should be pushed off a cliff. I usually don't get to picky when the playing is so good but that drum sound is horrendous.

I was actually at this show. The drum kit sounded nothing like it does here. Definitely a filming/sound issue. The concert was awesome.
