I was thinking about watching the movies as well but from reading all the reviews about them I don't think I will. Netflix has, I believe, the whole series. I was terribly disappointed with the cast change though, when they made the movies. I really liked Kellie Martin as Christy.

Yeah we can dream! but Kellie doesn't really do much acting anymore. She just had a baby a couple of years ago so she is being a mom right now and I can totally relate to that. But I would love to see her act in something else. Did you know she was only like 17 to 18 when she was in Christy? she wasn't even finished with high school when she started. Talk about a great actress!

Not only that, but all the original actors are 15 yrs. older now and would no longer fit the characters for a remake. I loved all of them though, and thought they did a really great job of portraying the roles.

yea opal myers she is the daughter of fairlight in the show...after the mision closed she bought it to preserve it, opals son know takes care of it and he will be at the christy homecoming in del rio in august

This was one of my favorite tv shows in the 90's. I guess living in Del Rio for half of my life is what made this movie so intriguing. I recently bought the complete series. The one episode that stands out to me is "Amazing Grace". Not sure why, but I guess it could be that I have always loved the song. Also, I had a school teacher when I went to Del Rio Elemtary School, Miss Opel. I know she had some ties with a character in the movie. Do you know who and what the connection was with?

Yeah, you're really talking to the wrong person here. I love Neil. I think the book makes it clear that Christy loves Neil, as well, and that she ends up with him. Though I haven't seen the new movies, I'm glad that they kept that ending. David will occasionally feature in my group videos or in some Neil/Christy/David triangle ones, but I doubt I'll ever make a video for Christy & David. Sorry.
