I was standing on my porch with my girlfriend when one of these flew over right after an airshow nearby, couldn't have been more than 600 feet up. Absolutely silent until it was right over us. Looked up and we both went "holy shit!!!" and just stood there amazed for about 5 minutes. Beautiful, beautiful bird.

They were building a bigger version with more power and fuel capacity to be able to make it to the US and then drop a nuke. By the time they made the advancements it was too late and the developers fled. Germany didn't even have a nuke at the time.

@YUSKHAN Not really, first off all the 229 wasn’t made to drop nukes, it was a fighter. They were building a bigger version with more power and fuel capacity to be able to make it to the US and then drop a nuke. By the time they made the advancements it was too late and the developers fled. Germany didn't even have a nuke at the time.
