  • The person who said they can make it on $9 an hour is probably single and living in his parents basement.

  • How much do securitas guards make anyways

  • Securitas ain't shit, SIEU ain't SHIT!

  • you guys don't know private company's and contracted security at all. Securitas is crooked, and if you have worked for this company, I just made you smile because its true. Securitas can go to hell. They abuse their k-9 sniffing dogs (see Chicago CTA complaints) and they abuse their employee's.

  • I did work them. They are horrible. Luckily, they are losing alot of contracts in my area alone!

  • Oh, I can't people fall for this neo-Marxism crap. The living wage idea is crap. If you raise the minimum wage, more jobs will be lost. If a worker makes 9 dollars a hour for the company, why should he be paid 11 dollars? If you raise the minimum wage, he lose the job because they can't afford him and then he' have some real problems "living" Wages have been rising naturally, in fact, only 3% of americas live on minimum wage, so the minimum wages helps no one and only hurts the poor.

  • LOl thats the biggest line of crap I've heard all year.... There is a reason to raise wage's... Oh let's see... gas prices which is causing everything from food to other crap to go up... so yeah... wages should go up to compensate...

  • Well, gas and food is going high because of the democratic congress. Raising the minimum wage is only lead to more loss jobs

  • @Jimraynor45 not to mention many that never wanted to are having to go on to the welfare system because they are out of options, i am sure they feel disenfranchised but it is putting a strain on the tax payers, i think if we had a good network of charitable foundations it would work better than welfare.

  • My thoughts exactly. Raising minimum wage only results in more people without wages to begin with.

What the U.S. need to do is lower the cost of living, as in lower rent, lower utility bills, etc.

You say people are complaining about getting $9/hour? I got that much at a job and I was living comfortably. Perhaps they just don't know how to separate their wants from their needs(needs: food, electricity wants: steaks, cable television)

  • @Retroplayer92 what really takes alot is having to pay for car insurance, renters insurance , rent, utilities.

by the end of all that you wont have anything left and insurance is required in many states. food costs to much too.

  • now if this was put in nationwide,in every state, & it applied to all jobs. everybody will want to work at any job because they have benefits guaranteed backed by a federal law. YOU GUYS SHOULD TRY TO TALK TO HILLARY CLINTON OR BARACK OBAMA

  • Force all employers to provide benefits, then they'd be forced to cut back on staff in order to pay for it
