  • NOKIA RULES

    TAKE THAT iphone HAHAHAHA

  • anybody knows the song name :D

  • Such a shame they don't have the technology to build their phones with machines-only. I mean, humans only have to put parts and check 'em, not build them for God's sake.

  • very junk place in our company house keeping are so good

  • still made in Finland???Not made in China?

The mobile phone factory in China will not like this, there are lots of people. They use people to replace machine.............

  • my n97 was made in china!! :)

  • I want to work here next time :)

  • people whining in YouTube how their phone does not work, so hilarious !

  • The only shit Nokia I owned was a C3 made in China though that was more AT&T's fault not allowing a crippled 1.0 firmware to be updated and firmware before 3.6 on those is considered broken.

  • Now I see why some are defective. :S

  • @TheMovieLinker i you don't handle it good of course it's going to defective

  • I would like to see a place where I could destroy this piece of shit, I spent a lot of money on it and it just does not work, I can not make a callphone even, it just restarts or freezes. I updated the software, made a lot of configurations and blah blah blah and nothing. I will regret to have bough this shit until my last minute of my life :( :( :( :( :( Every day I think to use my hammer on it, shiiiiittttt

  • whats the title and artist of the music that accompanies this video please ?

    regards to nokia

  • The box of my Nokia 5230 says it is made in Korea. I'm sure no matter where our Nokia phone is made, the same Nokia Quality is being applied.

  • @mark040477 My Nokia E71 was made in Korea too. <3 Nokia

  • watching this makes me feels better of my n97mini :p

  • i would make myself one if i've worked thhere..xD

  • That is what i call quality enginering. All of those phones were very well looked after. I don't care what anyone else says, the Fins make better phones than the Chinesse.

  • u have to work very fast in that kind of job

  • parece que esten haciendo un big mac

  • I thought they closed this place in favour of having stuff assembled by kids in China?

  • can u get 1 for n86 ?

  • Man.. all who works at a cell phone factory they get all free phones !

  • @Card5Tricks - Probably as an incentive since they need to stick to Nokia as long as they're employed in that place.

  • Burn this place. I had this phone for two weeks. I losted my all contacts and I was out of reach for 3 days. Im runing my own business and this phone nearly send me to hell

  • so this is where all the good stuff comes from..... :D

  • I GOT 1 AND ITS QUITE NICE!!!!

  • Nokia --- No secret .... Apple, VERY private and confidential , you will never have a video like this!!!

  • @candyee88 It's because they're using slave labor.

  • @candyee88

    I-Phone is made in china

  • @m27a68v71 but u wont see this kind of video...

im sure if had a bigger budget to work with the Chinese can produce pretty good product, they must be thing thinking these cheap bastards blame us for making cheap product...lol

  • I wish apple can show me how they make iphones!!

  • Why did they film this stuttering video with N97?

  • Why hasnt this phone come to america tmobile!!!

    and lovin it...:)

    iphone i used it b4 i bot n97..

and iphone is nothin infront of n97...\

    seriously

  • n97 is a good quality phone?

  • millions of N97

  • My Nokia is Made by Nokia (no location lol)

    I got a RM-505 N97

anyone know where is mine made in?

  • Made by Nokia is the worst Chinese quality you can ever find.

  • It is still a real nokia phone rite? Cuz the box and phone looks exactly like mine friend's RM-507 (US Verison) and hers is made in china.

BTW i got the global version since att work on 1900 mhz 3g in my area and I need a 3g phone that works in Europe when i am going aboard this winter.

If its a fake phone I can probably return it back to the store. :P

  • next time if you like to buy a phone try HTC TouchPro 2 and i'm sure you'll feel the difference. I purchsed Nokia N97 & 86 and for some odd reason N86 is X10 better than N97. But when i tried my friend's TouchPro2 i was stunned from the performance and GUI and i really wished i bought it. N97 is just a child when it comes to Smartphones who likes to stick with its godfather "The Symbian" till death.

  • actually when i was deciding on with phone to get it was between n97 and pro II but i thought pro was kinda of big and didn't have a hard drive. But i have to agree the pro II was quite good 2. nice Keyboard and faster processor. But i went with n97

  • LoL

And the same fact let me down. 16GB is quite good but who would need it? Hardly i have stored 42MB of stuff on my N97... and already i'm having a slow experience...

  • youd better make a better one pro man

  • @hiromiao ur one is made in China

  • the phone is awesome , but i had to return it. i couldn't deal with the fact that the one i bought from nokia USA ,

    WAS MADE IN CHINA.

I'VE BEEN LOYAL TO NOKIA PHONES FOR EVER , AND NOW IN THE USA. U CANT FIND A NOKIA N97 MADE IN FINLAND , THEY ALL CHINA SHIT . THIS IS SAD,,

WHY ..? ANY ONE CAN TELL ME WHERE TO BUY ONE MADE IN FINLAND , I CALLED AND LOOKED EVER WHERE THEY ALL HAD THEM MADE IN STUPID CHINA

  • Are you retarded or what? Everything you use today has stuff made in China. Apple, Nokia, Samsumg, LG, RIM, etc etc, they all develop and order 90% of all parts from Chinese suppliers like Foxconn, BYD, etc etc, another example, the Iphone is developed and made by Foxconn at Shenzhen China.

You are make North Americas look retarded with such stupid comment.

  • I am living in Finland. I can buy one "Made in Finland" Nokia N97 for you and can send you.

  • order one from a dutch only store

my N97 is made in finland :-)

actually all my nokia's i previous owned where made in finland

  • Comment removed

  • You guys ever wondered why Nokia isnt promoting N86? That phone is better and it has 8MP camera. Its just a matter of time when N97's price will collapse down and N86 will stay stable.

  • your probably just saying that cos you have a crappy n86 and you want an n97, now your regretting your purchase

  • actually both.... and these days i'm looking for a customer to sell Nokia N Piece of shit 97

  • is your n97 made in china or finland?

  • Made in Finland Interested in buying?

I updated firmware to v11.0.021 but still its a piece of SHIT....

HTC's Touchpro 2 is 10000000000000X better than this crap

  • i already have an n97, i wouldn't say its a piece of shit, its 1 of the best phones out at the moment, i'd rather have an iphone but i got the n97 at the very cheap price of £200 off a friend brand new when the iphone is £550 for a 32gb model. the n97 has a few faults like the processor is to slow and the keyboard isn't so good but overall its a decent phone

  • Nokia's strategy is to copy forms and functions from other mobile brands with "Pride", simplify then and present it to consumer. Their main key is to reverse engineer the technology with "Pride" and sell it with cheap price.

I can assure that within a year Nokia will copy iPhone exactly with CarlZeiss lens and sell it. Try HTC TouchPro2 its a bit expensive but you'd surely know where the money is going.

  • so this is how they made my N97!!!! If i knew i would have never bought it!!!!!

  • whyy??

    is it a good phone??

  • iPhone sucks poo

    N97 owns, i love it.

Maybe your just not used to it?

  • Maybe iPhone 3GS is more expensive for you to buy.

I've been loyal with Nokia ever since 3310 came.

E90 is far more better than this piece of shit.

  • Its a very good phone if you are used to symbian. =) Easy to use. Does everything I want it to.

  • gamer1st , your question related to free N97 for staff,

well they can if they want it's true, friend of mine works for HTC and he has a Touch pro 2 for free because he simply works for them, the company likes to take care of there workers it's common sense

  • I own this phone (yeah, I am one of the lucky ppl) and use it mostly for business purposes. The N97 is not perfect, especially when it comes to software and I have seen some mixed opinions about the device itself in many reviews.

For me, however, it is the best mobile device possible, bringing my on-the-go experience close to perfection.

Also, knowing someone actually assembled at least some part of it manually, makes me appreciate it even more. Good job NokiaConversations for the post.

  • Funny that there were so much manual labour, tought it would done by machines....

  • Me too

  • Comment removed

  • @kkhammer86 Yea, but it's almost handmade stuff lol

  • i wonder if the staff are entightled to a free n97.

  • well they get paid their wages, so i highly doubt they are entitled to a free one. the phones arent cheap are they

  • yeah your absolutley right i beleive there around 500 quid a piece nokia arent gonna give those away i guess. im sure they get a staff discount though lol

  • ASSEMBLED in Finland but MADE in China!^^

  • no the N Series Handys were made at Finnland, but the Battery came from China

  • everything is made in china =(

  • this phone is not being produced in china, but in finland

  • well, this phone was made in finnland, which is not even close to China at all ;)

  • How can this say Finland when they are Made in China nowdays Nokia cost cutting fenture back fireing on them,as there phones are so unreliable now

  • Fascinating !! so why do I have teeth marks on my N97 ?

  • lol xD

  • lol..very funny.

  • i wanna see the Nokia factory in China..coz like most of the Nseries in the market here are made in China :S:S

  • i don't really like nokia but nokia has really drastically changed their design team over the past years. they used to have circular keypads. that was so ugly. now they look tons better.

  • Cool

  • Can this be used to make a call and sms?

  • Yes, of course =).

  • well what would a phone be if it cant make calls???????????????

  • It's like in Mc donalds :))

  • I WANT THAT PHONE!! It's quite similar to my cell, I have a 5800 and it's like a reduced version of N97 xDD

  • wow seeing the workers hard at it brings back some memories although quite stressful at times was worth it to know that you could have put together the phone that someone you see using on the street.

  • so many...... luv uuuu... :)

  • Ohmy god so many n97's!!

I love all of them :D

  • Eh processor numbers are all relative, yes people that dont know any better and look at numbers only and dont realize the OP system on this phone doesnt take up so much processing power. Other phones like HTC and Iphone need faster ones because their Operating systems are so demanding but it doesnt mean they will be any faster than this phone. This is going to be a great phone. The pre-orders started to ship Tuesday for black version and the more limited White ships today.

  • it is a shame that Nokia Sales and Marketing does such a bad job in communicating WHEN this device is available. I'm living in Spain and preordered this device on May 5. They then told me that it would be available in 3 weeks. End of May I called again and then it was second week of June, today called again and now it's the last week of June... WILL IT EVER COME???????

This is a device that got announced in November 2008!!!

  • decemeber 2008...

  • ive heard frm Nokia it will b available in shops the 19th of June 2009.

  • ITS RUBBISH!

I am so dissapointed, I waited 6 months fot it! I paid 610 euros and it arrived today 12 am, i spent an hour swapping all the info from N96 and erasing it and reparing the N97. The wlan (wifi) doesnt work at all, its incredibly slow, and its huge, it's now in its box waiting to go back to the shop tomorrow, the n96 is back out of its box and hs all its memory restored! Seriously people, do not buy the N97, BIG MISTAKE!

  • i think u got the one that the woman made?? thats y its bad? :D

  • No its from a well known shop in madrid, ive been buying phones from them for years! They are picking it upthis morning and are going to change it, a black 1 this time instead of silver/white

  • Hey Sounds like you got ripped off and got given the N97 clone thats going around its a N97 it always except it has no WI-FI and GPS, You can pick them up at £130 GBP comaplain to them.

  • here its launched =) june 9!

  • i'm gonna get one this summer yay

  • i want to get one ;p

  • anyone want a great review of the nokia n97 check out my channel and my blog great stuff

  • wuts the name of the song??

  • thats great.. but is it gonna be in stores?? when does it actually ship? any release dates for america??

  • june 25

  • N97 is looking very nice. I just can't trust Nokia as a manufacturer anymore. I have owned too many poorly produced phones from Nokia. Latest was the Nokia 5800. I had to take it to maintenance four times, but they couldn't fix it. Gladly the store, where i bought it, took it back and gave me my money back.

  • wow. i like this factory. Looks like its preparing a expensive meal or chocolate collection!

  • Interesting that the assembly workers do not wear hair masks to protect hair from getting into the phones.

I suppose this is not as serious as in SLR camera assembly then.

At least it is good to see that this VERY long developed phone is finally being shipped.

I wonder when the planned release date will be. Anyone?

  • If the units were in Singapore, the workers would have face masks (sliva, sputum, sneezes) and hair masks (dandruff, loose hair, hair ornaments & chemicals.

Northern Europeans have thin hair: fragile, hard to find when falling into the units.

None of the assembly stations seem to have rubbish-avoidance air-flow as the units are assembled. If this was a REAL ASSEMBLY LINE, there'd be far more automation at great speed, noise and robot-handling, 24/7

This is a PUBLIC RELATIONS FAKE.

  • I assume you haven't visited the Salo factory? It's pretty much like that. The components are being soldered/assembled by automated robots but some parts are assembled by hand.

  • This is a REAL ASSEMBLY LINE - but for our high-end phones. Many of our other phones also go on REAL ASSEMBLY LINES, but those are the ones you want to see - automated and more speedy.

The point of showing this video is to show how we are making THIS phone, not ALL our phones.

  • Even though the units are mostly identical, this manual assembly sure makes them unique in some way. Just like a Ferrari: all with the same design, but never identical.

This points out the respect and discipline required to create truly awesome products. I take this assembly method to be a personal compliment by the Nokia team to their new customer (me).

  • great lol

  • this video of n97 is the same like n95 8 gb assembled search on youtube n95 8 gb assembly

  • how strong is the the hinges?reading allot of reviews talking bout it will break in time, that freaked me out, i have the E90 and the Hinges on that broke on me less than a year

  • really...E90...i've had that for almost 2 years...its perfectly fine...

  • i have the model before the one that is out now , i'm sure the mental hinges are much stronger, i was going to buy one but then saw N97 so decided to wait, but now i don't know, Looking at the Palm Pre for back up;-)

  • As far i know and out of experience, the "Made in Finland" sets find themselves in the hands of European and Middle East consumers. Rest of us have to be satisfied with "Made in China" sets.

  • It is so crazy the fact that you come out with a new phone and in this case you have to have new machinery to build that specific phone!..unbelievable!

  • does this phone use your finger nails or finger tips? thnx

  • its resistive touch screen so it definitely uses finger tips

  • The N97 screen goes by pressure you put on the screen. Not like the ipod where you cant wear gloves and other things cuz the screen on an ipod senses electricity. This allows the N97 to be used with stylus pens and other accessories like that.
