Ppl said Indonesia & Malaysia just like siblings, so if u have brother/sister sometimes u fight each other. Ppl in both countries have a strong feeling about nasionalism, they always think their countries is the always right (just like me and i'm indonesian xD). @Makavali0 first it started back in 1963 when Malaysia claimed the area in the upper part of Borneo (Kalimantan). Then in about 2009 they startd to claim many of our cultures and our islands. Of course you could not see it as a bad thing, because you are not Indonesian :) , but think this way, it's like if U.S.A claims Pizza from Italy. We are not rly that mad at first, but Malaysia kept on claiming n we fear they are going to take over our country :( a Malay have bombed Jakarta recently too :(

@Scoinsoffaterocks Hello brother :) Malaysia and Indonesia were colonized by two different colonies, one from England one from the Netherlands. That is why we are not together. And about Papua, according to researches, Papua New guinea is grouped among the aborigins, so it is split because they are different in terms of race :) & Indonesia Malaysia has so many problems between each other right now, but because of the rivalry, both countries grow faster everyday :D

West Papua is still inhabited by Papuans (Melanesians) and aboriginal Austronesians. Non-native Austronesians make up a minority and will still be represented within the country and cultural ties with the rest of Indonesia will not be lost easier.

And as for Malaysia and Indonesia, I know they were colonized by different countries and have competition which is good for growth BUT this competition will still exist even if they do join (e.g. California, Alberta). I don't see it in the near future
