  • i have a gts 250 mounted under a 5850, but i try to install the driver and it wont detect it :\ yet the card is working, but wont show the second desktop and wont install the damn drivers, any help would be awesome :3

  • @seriousman006

Hybrid PhysX is pointless now. You won't need it. You better just sell the 250.

  • wts the name of the song....

  • Is a 9500gt fast enough? I'm thinking of trying a 9500gt PCI as a Physxs card ,My Main card is a gtx 460. Both are Nvidia cards ,Please let Me know what you think, thanks

  • which screen recorder did u used ?

  • ok i try with one moniter plugged into gts 250 and my main moniter plugged into my 5770 then when i right click on desktop it kills my desktop it just sets there and loads and i have to kill explorer and i cant enable it any idea

  • hey Dude.. what's the name of this great song =D ?? and it's works with a ATI Radeon HD 5970 and a Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX ?? the PhysX have any diference with the model of the Nvidia Card ?? like 9800GTX or GTX 260 or Higher?? or it's ALL the same shit using only a PhysX driver and Nothing from the Graphic Card at all .__. ??

  • hi there, i can't make this mode to work, i have a ati 5970 and a nvida gt240 1gb dd3, and i dont have the physx menu on nvidia control painel. How can i make this work??

  • hey mate, could you update the install process for ati 10.7, nvidia 258.xxx and the new 1.04ff mod cheers

im currently trying to set it up with 5870 trifire and a 9800gtx+ for physx but i cant get the physx to show in the nvidia control panel

  • Comment removed

  • hmm i just installed physX mod 1.04FF and i can't open my catalyst. Do u know the trick to make it access able?

  • Hey dude,

I'm currently running a 5970 and a GTX280 using latest Nvidia drivers and ATI 9.12 drivers with hotfix.

In the game Mirrors Edge, the GTX280 shows 0% usage in GPUz. Any ideas on this?

I have desktop extended for the GTX280 and dragged off up into a corner so I dont loose windows on it. When I go into Nvidia Control Panel however I do not have a section for Physx?

  • @snedie69er

This method shown in this video is now outdated. You must Use GenLs PhysX mod 1.04FF. And you won't have an option for PhysX. You must go into 3d settings and select the CUDA GPU option and set it to use your GTX280.

You must also delete the PhysX files in Mirrors edge binaries folder so that the game uses the latest PhysX files from the drivers.

I hope this helps and remember to subscribe.

  • OK, so i'm planning on getting a 5850 in about a month. I'm also going to get an 8800, or a 9600 as well. I want to use the Nvidia card JUAT for phisX and the ATI card for graphical rendering. What I'm asking is if this is even possible. Cost isn't a problem and even if it improves my performance by just 5% it'll still be worth it.

My mobo is a GA-790XTA-UD4 AM3 AMD 790X. Would it be possible to run this sort of configuration?

  • @bubrockit

This has got to be the funniest comment I have recieved. What you want, is what is done in these series of videos. It is possible, and it is what is done.

    Remember to subscribe.

  • @Containforum I know it's sort of stupid to ask while watching a video about just that, but what i'm asking is will it work with my motherboard. And sure, I will subscribe.

  • @bubrockit

It will work on any and every motherboard with 2 or more PCI E slots to accomadate the cards.

  • @Containforum Thank you SOOO much for the straight forward answer, can't tell you how long I've been asking around. Also, I just got good news that I'll be able to afford a 5870. Should be an interesting mix!

  • @bubrockit

Definately! You should expect great performance from it.

  • The driver or the card xD?

  • @TheAtidude

The driver. Everything will still work fine. It's just that when you try to use the driver it will tell you there is no Nvidia card.

    Remember to subscribe!

  • @Containforum But it wont show me errors when i play a game or something?

    Btw i subbed :D

  • @TheAtidude

No it will not. The driver just won't function. It will make absolutely zero difference to your system. It is pointless unless you have or are planning on buying an Nvidia GPU.

  • @TheAtidude oh...now i get it...

    Thanks! :D

  • What will happen if i install ati radeon card on nvidia drivers?

  • @TheAtidude

    Nothing. It just won't work.

  • Is a Corsair HX-750W PSU enough power for a 5870 and GTS 260?

  • @Dosycool1

    Yes it is.

Please subscribe and sign up to our website. It will be a big help.

  • @Containforum

    Awesome!

Thanks for the quick reply, I have subbed and signed up on your website.

  • you seem to be obscenely smart and know alot about PhysX. do you reckon a i5-750 quad core processor (Intel) with a Sapphire 1GB HD5850 + Gigabyte 1GB GeForce GF9800GT in PhysX be compatible together? (with the ATI+NVIDIA PhysX fix) i might think about using eyefinity to go 2 screens aswell. appreciate the help

  • @nfsm654

Yes it will be comptatible. Please subscribe and check out our new website.

    containforum.co.cc

  • what is the program you use to see fps?

  • @phoenix1limo

Fraps. Please subscribe. It will help us greatly.

  • i did everything you said but i dont see physx in control panel

  • @shawn106

If you bothered to read the description you would have noticed that this workaround was meant for 196 drivers only. This doesn't work for any of the newer drivers.

The same effect can be achieved in newer drivers by patching them with GenL 1.03 mod.

  • @Containforum omg thanks sorry for not reading the description :P

I got it working with hd 5830 + 9500gt :DDDDD Thanks alot for tut

  • Hi do you think it might be cause im useing ATI 10.5 instead of 10.2

  • @johnie464646

No the ATI drivers have no effect at all.

  • yes it is enabled but not ticked in gpu-z box

  • @johnie464646

Then you have done something wrong. Uninstall both ATI and Nvidia drivers and do it again. Also try with only the Nvidia card installed.

  • Hi still no good when i open GPU-Z the openCL box is ticked not physix and in fluid mark the flow flashes in and out...

  • @johnie464646

Have you made sure to go and enable physx in the Nvidia CP? I know it sounds stupid but alot of people don't or forget to do it.

  • hi just purchased a 9800gt to add to my 5870 but i carnt get physx to work i went to the 197 drivers and vesion 1.03 for hybrid fix got both card running but no physx then i went back to older divers but they wont install using ati 10.5 just a big mess dont know what to do???

  • @johnie464646

Install 256 beta drivers. They don't require any patching.

  • i tryed now i cant play anything...

  • @guzbossvid

This method is old. New method with GenL 1.03 patch works better. This method was only meant for the older drivers from Nvidia.

I'll send you link via PM.

Use that and no need to extend desktop and still have PhysX.

  • @Containforum works now thx

  • Does it work with the latest ATi drivers 10.4??

  • @johnie1992

This method is now redundant. Newer PhysX patch will give same results on all the newer drivers.

  • @Containforum Thanks! I just installed the Geln 1.03 and works perfect without the fix :)

But although Hardware Physx are Enabled, when I run FluidMark, it starts with about 250FPS and after a while im getting 23FPS :/ Do you have any idea whats wrong?

    (FluidMark says HArdware Physx)

  • @johnie1992

Nothing is wrong. Your card just isn't fast enough for modern PhysX games.

  • @Containforum Its the XFX 9600GT, its not such a fast card but only 23fps?

Im getting about 20 fps without the the dedicated card too. (sofware physx)

  • damn thats such a hassle, ty

  • will this work if i only have 1 display setup?i mean will my 5970 hd perform physx?

  • @xpd15

The 5970 does not support PhysX. Nvidia 8 series and higher only.

  • @Containforum Do you know if its gonna work with Just Cause 2?

Cause just cause 2 supports Cuda but no physx, right?

  • @johnie1992

It works with JC2 only if you extend display. If you do what I have here CUDA won't work in JC2.

  • @Containforum Do I have to connect the phycs card with the monitor a a second monitor too? Or just extend the display and thats all?

    (I have genl 1.03 installed)

  • @johnie1992

Neither. If you use GenL 1.03 it would work without extending. If you bother to read his readme's you would have known.

  • @Containforum I have read the readme but I dont think that it says something about Cuda. Shouldn't CUDA check-box be market in gpu-z? (PhysX and openCL boxes are ticked)

Thats why I cant understand if Cuda is working or not. ;)

  • @johnie1992

Sorry I thaught you were reffering to PhysX. It is best to expect CUDA not to work.

This card should only be used for PhysX. There are just many limitations to using a hybrid setup.

  • Do I stll have to use two monitors (or 2 cables on one monotor) after that??

Can I unplag the nvidia card (plaged on the second monitor) after that That? Will it continiue working??

  • @johnie1992

The Nvidia card never needed to be plugged in anyway.

  • @Containforum Never? that sounds good! But how you get the extended desktop without the nvidia card plugged in??

I still have the older patch and if I unplug the card or turn off extended desktop, I cant have Physx.

  • @Containforum One last thing, Can I Enable CUDA on my 9600gt physx dedicated?? It see ms tu be desabled now according to gpu-z.

    Thank you for helping :)

  • @johnie1992

You can not enable or disable CUDA. It is just there. PhysX works through CUDA. However other apps which use CUDA may or may not work.

  • @Containforum JC2 supports only Cuda and no physx, right?

Have you ever managed to make cuda work on your pc?

  • @johnie1992

As I said, CUDA works. It's upto the specific application whether it will be able to use it. CUDA isn't a software feature like PhysX. While using a Hybrid setup, if he software detects the Nvidia card it will work. If it doesn't detect the Nvidia card then it won't. JC2 CUDA only works when the display is extended. But then you have other problems.

  • so will i still need a dummy vga with this fix

  • @stupidlambo

You never needed one in the first place.

  • m planning on doin this mod.i have i7 930 proc

    intel x58mobo

    ati 5850

planning on getting 8800 or 9800 depending on availabilty

so will it work? n will i need to put in some coolers as at the moment i dun have nethng other than ma cabinet cooler master cm690 fan ..pls repli soon anyone!

  • @umran89

It will work. However with newer drivers from Nvidia the extended display fix doesn't work. currently I am trying to create a fix for it.

  • @Containforum n what about cooling fan?! i hav 3 already as ma cabinet provided but will i b needing xtra? and i have currently 650 W Power supply of cooler master will i need to add a diffrent one with more power?

  • @umran89

    You won't need extra

  • @Containforum thankx a ton dude..i will let u know if it goes perfect !

  • Thanks for your help so far , In your Opinion (I googled for it 1st ,couldn't fine anything) Would a 8800gt @ 1x's PCI-e Suffice for Physics , the main card is an 4890 @ 16x's....

  • Ok well i have done ever thing is says hardware physX but it i try to run nvidia smoke it wont give me the smoke or water same with PhysX Particle Fluid Demo but the FluidMark says its hardware not software so wth is it working? im running win 7 x64 xfx 4890 and a xfx 8600 gt xxx :D

  • @blueclaydude500

If the software is from Nvidia it won't work. Try a game with PhysX.

  • Is this possible with Ati 10.3 beta drivers?

And which drivers i need for the nvidia cards??

  • @sdiablos

I havn't tried with 10.3 drivers. Apparently they don't have this problem. As for the Nv drivers, you just get the latest ones.

  • @Containforum

So I need to install latest Nvidia drivers with the 10.3 drivers and it may work?

  • Check out my latest video. Latest Nvidia drivers and 10.3 ATI drivers.

  • would my psu be enough to power a q8200, 8gb of ddr2 ram, 1 ati 5850 and 1 gtx 260 core 192 physx? i have a corsair 750 watt psu. i just bought the ati card and i was wondering if i could use my old card

  • @bpro10592

Try it out. If it becomes unstable then you know you havn't got nough power.

  • If i am using GT220 as my phsyx card, was it enough to enable the physx in game at HIGH? is there any difference in physx performance by using either GT220 or GT240? I just have to control my budget. I am gaming right now using HD5850. Hope u can help, thanks.

  • @pleasebegoodman

Depends on the game. 220 would be alot slower than a 240. Get a 240 or above, or don't buy anthing at all.

  • is 950 watt psu much better ?

  • @jofffsd

    It is.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @jofffsd Yes it should be. But since you will have 3 cards in your system I think you should go for 1KW.

  • hi can you help me with select a power supply for mine compruter ihave an intel i7 950 6 gig ddr3 1333mhz and i whant 2 5870 + one 260 gtx black edition for physx

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you for the videos, they are very informative, helpful, and, most importantly, STRAIGHTFORWARD. I really do appreciate the videos, keep the good work coming :-)

  • Just buy an Nvidia card if you want Physx, This sucks!

Buying an ATi card is like buying a fancy KIA instead of a mercedes.

  • @Outrider2x

Just don't search for videos like this if you don't need the help, FAG.

  • i was referred by someone who thought it was funny

    i was not disappointed

  • Yeah, stupid us, wanting to run multiple video cards without an nforce chipset, and wanting dx11, not to mention the price to performance ratio... I should have bought an overpriced, out dated, power hungry card, you're right. I'm so stupid.

  • Yeah, too bad the drivers are still shit. You see, it doesn't matter what your price/power/features are if the DRIVERS DON'T WORK PROPERLY. I have owned several ATi cards over a 10-year period and all of them had driver and performance issues. AMD doesn't come anywhere close to the developer relations and general initiative in gaming of Nvidia.

Nvidia spends millions of dollars developing game-improving technology in house(physx) and AMD's response is to whine about OPEN STANDARDS.

  • @Outrider2x

Listen up. The drives work absolutely fine. I have a 5870 and I love it. i also have an 8800GTS which I use for PhysX and I love that too. This is my 2nd ATI card and it works so much better than the Nvidia cards did for me in terms of drivers. I've had a Geforce 4 series, 5 series, 6 series, 7 series and 8 series, so don't talk about the drivers to me.

  • @Outrider2x

Also what is the purpose for you comments? If you like Nvidia then thats all good, enjoy your card. But yet you dig up videos like this just to make moronic comments which have no relevence to the other viewers. I have DX 11 at my disposal with PhysX. You havn't.

Maybe you do this out of jelousy?

  • @Containforum

I wish I could vote your comment up a hundred times instead of only one...

  • @GibsonSGKing

    Hehe thanks!

  • @Outrider2x

Yeah, they were shit on launch day. Now they're great though. Nvidia has shit launch day drivers as well, every one does. I've owned many Nvidia cards, and many ATi cards, and their drivers are more or less the same.

Nvidia /wastes/ millions of dollars developing PhysX more like. When the hell was the last time you've seen a game use PhysX? It takes massive amounts of resources, and is just about useless. There is zero demand for it, and you pay out the ass for the hardware.

  • it does not work with Cryostasis

  • Hella useful info, dude. I found a GT 240 on sale... not the most powerful card for physx, I know, but I wasn't planning on spending more than $50. I don't play many physx games anyway.

    thanks for posting!

  • lol hardly worth it since the physx wont be 100% active as it is with just the nvida card. even using one in tanden with a ATI you dont get full benefit a as a full card with simple drivers that Work

  • @TikiShootah

You don't make any sense at all. PhysX works 100%. The Nvidia card is a didicated PhysX processor.

  • Trust me theres a difference. can even see it in FPS. but w/e hacking to get somthing that works for others out of the box

  • @TikiShootah

Actually no. There is no difference in FPS. Whethers it's a full NV system with dedicated PhysX or a Hybrid System with Dedicated PhysX performance is the same.

  • i think i have ATI umm nvdia driver doesn't work on my windows 7 why?

  • @gummiboll111

Thinking isn't enough. Know if you have ATI or Nvidia or both.

Then to get the Nvidia driver to work; see my other videos. This video has a link in it to part 2. Watch that one.

  • is it still possible to have an ATI card as your main card and an nvidia card as dedicated physX?

  • jeah, same question, and can u use a nvidia card as physX card while using dual crossfire???

  • @assasinkittyFilms

Yes you can still use PhysX while using CrossfireX.

  • @captainclayman

Yes, thats exactly what I have done.

  • that is extreme badassness

  • @captainclayman

    Thanks. I hope it helps.

  • @captainclayman Yes.
