  • @0:44 Notice he doesnt say its true or anything. Its because he was raised that way and was beat if he spoke aganst it.

  • the director is a little annoying

  • making that money!

  • 2:28 first time ive everseen hitch lost for a word lol

  • Hitchens in the chopper = badass :')

  • I can't believe Hitchens would debate, let alone make a movie with, a creationist. Douglas Wilson is a young earth creationists. This man doesn't deserve to be on the same stage with Hitchens!

  • I never thought I could think any more highly of Hitchens, but I was wrong.

  • I want to watch it so badly but it gives me a headache because of the screwy camera.

  • wow, Douglas admits that he is christian because he was brainwashed as a child. Just because your parents taught you to be christian doesnt make it true.

  • @RichH231 And because your parents taught you Christianity it does not mean Christianity is false it does not make it false. If an atheist teaches his kids atheism is does not mean Atheism is false. Think

  • @JPBuysjr you need to think my friend, by admitting that the reason he is christian is because his parents taught him to be is not a legitimate reason for it being true.

  • @RichH231 Agreed, it doesn't make it true. I wouldn't say that and I don't think Wilson would admit that either

  • yeah the film makers are awful, but still great documentary

  • you gotta love the over the top music :D

i like this documentary, thx for uploading it!

  • The fat preacher's analogy of the jailer and the prisoner is a poor one. God is actually MORE limited in power than humans, yet at the same time it's claimed (for him) that his power is limitless. Yet, when you call God out on his "power" and you ask him to appear, he never does, and never has. Yet, Christians claim that all they have to do is pray earnestly and anything they ask will occur. They treat their God like a magic genie, but the genie never comes out of the bottle.

  • As a kid we were always taught that there was depth of meaning in the parables of Jesus. I remember kids definitely figuring out that this had an underlying sub theme of racism. It is possibly my favourite parable. I am now an atheist by the way, but I think one would have to concede that that story is rich in moral and ethical ideas and very good to teach to children. I will certainly be teaching it to mine.

  • i love how they stage their debate lol like its war. the end of this video where they are walking is funny haha

  • That hip hop music in the background is HOT !!! Perfect for this documentary...

  • Hold on a minute pastor, you talk about people not getting the true meaning of Jesus's parables? Doesn't that make jehovah a bit of an ass? If you can't make yourself understood to common people then what is the frickin' point? God needs to enlist on a communication course. He also needs to sign up for anger management. Probably needs a good friend to tell him he is a bit of an egotistical asshole as well (but in a nice way).

  • I'm surprised that Mr. Hitchens doesn't know that 9/11 was an inside job. Here's a link to some of the evidence.

    spurstalk (dot) com/forums/showthread (dot) php?t=144746

Maybe he's been threatened as Noam Chomsky might have been. The evidence is clear.

Another thing I think he'd want to know about is that there might be fossils of modern humans that are millions of years old. Do a YouTube search on "Forbidden Archeology".

  • @Cosmored The reason he doesn't, and why most people don't know, is because there is no proof of it. There has never been an official finding of a million-year-old human fossil. In science you publish or die, if you believe you discovered something new it has to be reviewed by the scientific community. A million-year-old human fossil would be an unbelievable find and rewrite history, however any story about a find of that magnitude is false.

  • As they were walking slowly away from the helicopter I was completely expecting it to explode

  • Okay, if you think that then you think that. Could the same be said for Nazi Germany, or do you draw a line at that comparison?

  • Hitchens the critic is great, but Hitchens the man is a bit fake. All that guff about 'feeling solidarity with the US and it's people' especially over the 9/11 attacks. He spends most of his time 'abusing Americans' for being religious idiots in the same way he accuses Europeans of doing so. It seems to me his solidarity is just a convenient alliance with fellow despisers of Islamo-fascism, whomever they are. In his rush to rightly critique leniency to Islam, he jumped into bed with neo-cons.

  • @nakedmambo The lack of substance in your comment almost sent me into a deep snooze.

  • @finchy633You'd have to woken up from a snooze to be able to be sent back into one. Now go you can go back to uncritically worshipping Hitchens. He's a superb critic, but that's all, and he has faults.

  • @nakedmambo You'd have to woken what? Anyway, no evidence of worship here. And your neo-con critique is silly. Fifty years ago, they would be called radicals.

  • @finchy633 That's: typos from using a mobile device. It's not a silly critique, they are indeed radicals, but dangerous ones with a lunatic agenda AND in power at the seat of of the most influential government in the world.

  • @nakedmambo Fighting the leaders of fascistic regimes is a lunatic agenda? In what way?

  • @finchy633 One underhanded fascist regime fighting another, that's the history of US foreign policy since 1947, progressively getting worse. It's christian idiots and dangerous money worshippers battling people they created. I have no love for Islamo-fascists, but no love for their sated enemy no.1 either.

  • @nakedmambo Oh, I see, you see yourself as haughtily above the whole conflict.A neutral maybe. That's fair enough, though I doubt the members of Al Qaida would treat you as a neutral. Now you must explain why the USA is fascist. Have a good go.

  • @finchy633 U.S. government foreign policy? That's easy, the long list of democratically elected governments that have been illegally brought down by CIA covert wars, assassinated leaders who happened to have the "wrong" economic policy; breaking of treaties on weapons sales and heading drugs smuggling for the sake of pursuing this. Then there is the bending of law for political purposes. Interference into foreign governments, particularly the UK, using tax money. It's all old, well-worn news.

  • @nakedmambo I said you have to explain why the US is 'fascist'. The examples you use could be said of many countries, the UK, France, Russia, Australia, etc. Why or how is the US 'fascist'?

  • @finchy633 For all this sending you into a "snooze" initially, you seem interested in pursuing it. The haughty ones are those more interested in making pithy remarks to try and be like Hitchens..it often fails.

  • @nakedmambo Sometimes you can't let boring people get away with it.

  • @finchy633 Don't worry. I'm not letting you get away with it.

  • @nakedmambo So are you going to have a pop at answering my question of how America is fascist?

  • @finchy633 Done it already. It's an admixture of Christian and economic fascism. Perhaps you want a tiresome to-and-fro about how it's not according to your dictionary definition of fascism, I'm not interested in that. When a government and it's capital bosses tries to force its ideology on the world using illegal tactics and power it is fascistic. When it subverts laws and agreements for the sake of dominating trade and protecting profit, it is fascistic.

  • @nakedmambo Sorry, but that's not what fascism is. A constitution, regular elections, a free press, women's suffrage, the right to a fair trial, are not part of any fascistic state. So erm, you fail.

  • @finchy633 Even fascist nations have constitutions. 'Regular elections' is a joke: US elections are gerrymandered and disproportionate; they're not even direct election. I'm guessing you don't really understand the U.S. election system. Free Press? Okay, every dominant news outlet is owed by biased corporate interests. Female suffrage and the ability to hold office featured in fascist Italy. Justice is on cost, i.e. money often buys better justice. Look in the mirror for the failure.

  • @nakedmambo Even fascist nations have constitutions? Well spotted, but do these constitutions give the citizens inalienable rights? The women point is too big a one for a youtube comment, but women under Mussolini were pressured heavily to lift the birth rate, and used as a propaganda tool for the state.I suppose it comes to this: Do you believe that the USA is no better, governmentally or societally, than the fascist countries in the 1920's, 30's and 40's?

  • @finchy633 Yes, in many ways the USA is no better than fascist Italy in the 1920s, in fact in some ways it is a lot worse. The U.S. is not openly oppressive, but just decide not to follow the political and economic line, or bring out some serious policy critique (i.e. not unimportant tittle-tattle) and you can expect trouble. Foreign policy is the main arena. The U.S. was not founded as a democracy, only as a republic. The self-delusion of Americans is that the USA is a 'guardian of democracy'.

  • effin' pimps getting outta da chopper debating n' drinkin n' smokin bitches!

  • why would Hitchens agree to be in this silly movie....Wilson may be a nice guys....so what? his logic and ideas are sophmoric

  • 9:14 - 9:51 lmfao wtf i can't tell weather this movie is about a wrestling match gang war or a debate

  • Woot! Maylene and the sons of disaster :) made the movie even better.

  • That`s really a very funny analogy Douglas makes about being chained to a wall, and the jailor being able to reach you, but you incapable to reach him. Doesn`t put God in a very good role if you ask me.

  • I've invented a game. Think of two intellectuals and imagine them in that helicopter sequence - try and think of the most inappropriate pair possible.

  • @GeorgesBarras me and your mum...

  • @Yenwop121 Well played.

  • @mattrichanderson what ?

  • could never imagine hitchens going, "Now to pop a cap in God's bitch-ass," though it would sound pretty cool with his accent, and straighforward speech.

  • does anyone know the name of the song at 6:00?

  • 9:14 Hitch. Fuckin respect the name bitches.

  • I was a bit surprised hitch hadn't already heard the other part to the samaritan story, jebus is pro at anti establishment material!

  • It's ironic that you have two intelligent, articulate well spoken and respected men, yet they put the most ignorant, unsophisticated, immoral, degrading form of what I wouldn't even consider music as background atmosphere. Rap is the absolute worst form of music and anyone who listens to it has a lower IQ and is dumbing our society. There was a small test performed at a university and those who listened to rap had the lowest scores of anyone.

  • @FullMoonMysticism1 Hush. If it weren't for metal and rap, they could have just cancelled the entire music industry 20 years ago.

  • @DuhIdiot1 Yeah, because those are the only two forms of music which exist. I didn't say anything about metal, there is a great amount of musical talent which goes in to various forms of metal and if you argue that then you automatically prove that you do not play an instrument or understand music. For you to say that these are the only two forms of music goes to show that you have no clue as to the plethora of music which actually exist. Rap is not music, end of story.

  • @FullMoonMysticism1 Wow. That's some mighty fine fail right there.

I didn't say those are the only two forms, my comment praised metal yet you act as though I've spoken against it, then you repeat the idiocy about the "only two forms" comment I never made, and then reveal how shitty your taste is by again trashing one of the best kinds of music to ever come down the pipe.

Lookin' good, man. Try comprehending and *then* responding.

  • what was that Douglas said about his parents spanking ?

  • Probably the entire soundtrack came off of the two men's IPods.

  • @DuhIdiot1 yeah - good call, man! my guess would be that too. 'rap' included.

  • @chrispollock nooo in this situation it makes it all about a million times more awesome.

  • @chrispollock

    agreed...

  • The Rap is very annoying and has no place in this documentary

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa Hitchens has enough swag to merit rap.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa not as annoying as the Christians they have no place in this documentary rap is good music for this it is more clever and meaningful than other forms of music

  • @n2488: Rap is good? Rap is clever? LOL

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa yer sarcasm dont work well when written down

  • @n2488: Perhaps it is because it was not sarcastic. It was shock. Shock that you could be so void of knowledge of music. Here is sarcasm: I am sure people will be listeneing to Snoop Dogg in 300 years because his music is a gift to mankind. Rap, especially gangsta rap, is a true tetstament to the human spirit.

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa close minded much just because u don't like it doesn't mean other peeps shouldn't listen to it

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa you're wrong

  • @aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa

There, there, grandpa! It wasn't that bad.

  • i do know this they are both making big bucks. Talking about Gullible

  • At 45 seconds Douglas Wilson admits to the fact that he is a christian because he was raised a christian.

And because of that he thinks he's right.

    Please.

  • @Hornadayfan He said he is christian because his mother spanked him.

  • "The first reason, the most fundamental reason I am a christian is because of my parents". Wooow, point proved on how naive he was as a child and never grew out of his pajama suit. A perfect simple example of how gullible our species is as a whole. Ruined the rest for me but at least I'll learn a thing or two from Mr. Hitchens!

  • @datazndood You didn't understand fully what he said. Of course his first and most fundemental reason for adhering to Christianity is his upbringing because his parents were the first to expose him to the idea. He goes on to say that his faith is a gift from God. He doesn't claim that his faith comes from either himself or his parents, but that God used his parents as a means of delivering faith to him.

  • @MantusRush I understand that, I also had religious parents. Around the time I could figure out fairytales from real life heros I stopped being religious. Believe me, I want to believe in a higher power and something to fallback on when everything else fails. It is the best product to sell for the hopeless, I know because I'm sort of there myself. But in the end, any logical adult really has to admit that part of their brain kicking in saying (this is complete bullshit).

  • 4:32 someone peaks through the curtains

i think it was the devil :)

  • The argument that the world just "happened" is absurd. Think of how complex the world is...science, mathematics, music. The human body. Do you really believe that all this just happened by a few bacteria dancing around in space? God created the world with a specific design. Everything in the world cooperates because He made it to be that way.

  • @JEngbers10

    Humans don't cooperate. Logic fail.

  • @JEngbers10 Everything in the world that didn't cooperate died. That's evolution.

  • the samaritan story would have made a bigger impact had it been the jew helping the samaritan...

jew's looked down at the samaritans... and it was a jew that told the story.

  • at :051 does Wilson say his mother spanked him diligently?

  • Hitch being Biggie Smalls chillin' in the helicopter 9:12

  • im a deist. but at the same time, i am an anti-theist. thank you christopher. you have changed my life.

  • Hitch makes it rain.

  • There are some others who are absolute pros on these topics (William Lane Craig and Richard Dawkins, for example). I'd love to see more films done in this style with those other intellectuals.

  • There are some others who are absolute pros on these topics (William Lane Craig and Richard Dawkins, for example). I'd love to see more films done in this style with those other intellectuals.

  • the intelligent design argument is inherently flawed. hard side to intelligently debate on. Wilson does what he can, but game over man, game over.

  • I'm Atheist, but I love Wilson. That's one intelligent Christian.

  • Makes 'them' look badass? More like makes Hitchens look badass.

  • That poor man, Wilson, was abused as a child. No wonder he clings so hard to the ultimate father figure. I hope he gets the help he needs. Sincerely.

  • 01:00 "[my parents] lived out the life of christ for us as kids"..... by "spanking you diligently"?

    how fucked up is that?

  • so much rap. rofl

  • @southsydney tHE CAMP VALUE IS PRICELESS

  • The music makes them look like total badasses.

  • @Zimnyification well one of them is at least =)

  • @Zimnyification duh they both are! :)

  • @Zimnyification Totally! I read your comment before I came to that bit and then laughed out load when I came to the end..... okay 5 of 9 next...

  • @Zimnyification When they are in the helicopter it looks like the beginning of a rap video.

  • @Zimnyification intellectual P.I.M.P.'s rofl

  • @Zimnyification Hitch don't need to Hip-Hop to look badass

  • @Zimnyification I was thinking the same thing

  • I want lil jon in there! Let's get crunk H-itch and W-zone! Yeeaah!

Thanks for uploading this! Been glued to my seat.

  • I love the music choices. Insane.

  • It's amazing that people are still insisting that there is an invisible person watching everything we do. It's absolutely amazing. Watch them. Listen to what they claim. Then look around you. I don't see this God you speak of.

  • @LeLimeLine You sort of contradicted yourself. You don't see God because, you said it yourself, he is "invisible". But that doesn't mean he's not real. I mean look back to The Enlightenment. One of the theories of God was that he was "a watchmaker", that he created the world & just let it go & watched his creation from afar w/o interferring whatsoever. So just because you don't see him... Haha, sorry, I'm not trying to preach or anything, just stating another side to your comment ^^

  • @HikaruAio2 You're entirely confusing my use of the word "invisible" with meaning merely "invisible". "Invisible", in this context, means without any evidence whatsoever, not limited only to sight. If there is literally no evidence, then you must conclude that the concept is nothing more than a product of our imaginations. As for the deist "watchmaker" God, such a God, by definition, would leave no marks, and therefore we are forced to make the same conclusion about him. Product of imagination.

  • @LeLimeLine so you're a "see it to believe it" kind of person? It's understandable though. But wouldn't you consider the whole universe to be evidence for God's existance or even another godly figure? He may have left his mark, but no one realizes that it might be the world around them. I understand your reasoning. I'm still just an agnostic myself so I'm still contemplating. And thanks for being so cool about my random comments lol.

  • Oh the irony of the prison analogy. God is like a prison guard, we are his prisoners.

  • @jamesstephenbrown Ha, I was thinking the same thing.

  • @LeLimeLine Great minds...

  • the ending made me laugh...but it was pretty badass

  • This cuts at the fat of both sides. Time very well spent.

  • I was Jesus who said "Love your enemies, and spank them"

  • The hip hop with Hitchens and Wilson walking in slowmo at the end is absolutely irrefutably epic! The Hitch is totally gangsta!

  • @tookaysevon Dude, if you like Hitchens and you can get into hip hop... I've got somethin you're gonna cream your pants over. DZK is an independent rapper who has some seriously bruising shit to spit about religious belief. Check it.

    watch?v=YsjVw2k1c_8

  • Haha...wonder if he realizes that he was making god into a jailor in his little analogy?
