The Chinese are known for not getting involved. They have stood by and watched as women have beed beaten to death. I do believe the bystander effect occurs in the U.S., however, I don't think people would have just driven away in this case. It is amazing how the Chinese will not get involved when they greet each other with "have you eaten". Damn, someone could have ask that poor girl if she had eaten. We live in a crazy world.
