Wreck on the Highway: An obscure, almost never performed song written almost 30 years ago, yet so stunningly sad, poignant, and beautiful, as the singer helps us confront our own mortality. Sometimes I have trouble fully expressing my admiration for Mr. Springsteen's genius.

This is taken from a September 1980 rehearsal in Lititz, PA, just prior to his tour in support of The River. The videotape was to help judge lighting, mood, appearance and more. Springsteen was on the cusp of the big-time -- nothing was to be left to chance. It was a GREAT tour. And the LP went #1, his first to do so -- Magic, released six months ago is his most recent #1 album. Yay Bruce.
