  • she didn't write this song. Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil did.

  • everytime.. i listen to dolly.. its a MENTOSE MOMENT

  • As I see it, Mrs. Parton had to have that body. You see, as a songwriter in Country Music, her music always had a huge amount of soul; Her body had to be reflective of that soul she possessed. Just listen, and you'll see that I'm telline the truth.

  • And here I go!

    Love you Dolly

  • Happy Heart.

    Here Again.

    Lovable Lyrics.

  • My Mom loved Dolly. I remember every Saturday she would watch country shows. Hee Haw was one of them.

  • Thumbs up if you're watching this in 2011

  • A very smart, very talented woman... She came from nothing and look at everything she achieved, all while remaining a class act. She should be an inspiration to the young female performers of today, most of whom churn out nothing but crap-ola. Give me the sweet sound of Dolly instead of all that "boom boom boom" "uhh uhh uhh" any day!!

  • She is simply a natural

    She is simply The best

  • Oh Dolly, I love you!

  • Dolly is the best!! Sorry Corey0625, Dolly is the queen! Reba cant play any musical instruments and she doesnt even write her own songs.

  • Crap

  • What a pile of absolute shite

  • @88johnbarnes Ahh yeah, it's alright you saying that... but think about it, and try to therefore imagine living at the time when this music was THE shit , ok. There would have been no modern music. No justin bieber... no katy perry or whatever the hell you listen to ... I bet you would have fallen in love with this if you were living at the time of this song's potential popularity and you happened to hear it .

  • That voice could bring down a metalhead im one who wrote Dolly and told her how this track brings me to tears...SO AWESOME - GB

  • Yeah makes me long for innocence

  • those were the days- or so we thought

  • Okay. Back then nobody rifted like dolly did. So she was like the Beyonce of country back then. UNTIL the real QUEEN OF COUNTRY MUSIC came along REBA McENTIRE. She (REBA) when she became popular in the 80's was the biggest and best voice ever heard and still is.

  • Not only is this a good, not only is this a good singer - but you can tell she is HAPPY singing what she is singing! This is what is lacking in today's musicians and today's music!

  • I wish she was my real mother. That woman has a heart of an angel.

  • I will always love your music and of course the laughter and humor that you possess.... Incredible , Amazing Lady....

  • A wonderful singer and a wonderful person.

  • dolly is sooo cool.

  • nice dress

  • i lurves this song,i could play it all day

  • I like dolly, i think personally shes improved with age, and that is a compliment before anyone starts.

When she was younger came seems to come across a little wooden, but shes got rid of that over the years and improved greatly. Very good though 5 stars.

  • what a beautiful voice-the queen of country...real music,real voicesxx

  • It is same idea of mine! If it is possible ,

I hope to be a good friend thrue YouTube.

  • Man this song has been in my head for 36 years but I never knew the title. All I know is Dolly Parton was the singer and I was 7years old when I heard this song.

Geez I miss the 70s. I love Dolly

  • This rocks! I love how her voice echoes in the theater --- it is like an angel! This is the song that made her a superstar. I still think the "Here You Come Again" album is one of the greatest of her career.

  • SHE IS THE GREATEST ! !!!!

  • well if she is gay, heres one brotha who don't care and would do her fine ass any day!-and love this fucking song from the first time i heard it-she made me listen to country!!-lol!!

  • I do any thing to see her in a live concert.

  • I know: she has such a sunny personality and great voice.

  • She gets better and better. I love her older songs but I will take her any which way. Her songs are so well done.

  • WOW!! This is a fantastic vocal performance. (almost better than the original) Thank you so much for posting!!

  • I'm a brotha from the hood who fell in love with this country song when I first heard it and its still one of my favorite tunes.

  • Great cross-over hit! It really broadened her appeal!

    And what a woman!!

  • dolly's just the best! perfect pop song written by cynthia weil and barry mann, then with dolly delivering with her awesome voice.

  • best song ever!!!

  • such a deep song! I can soooooo relate to this song!!! love Dolly! Such an amazing song writer!!!

  • Love this song my parents were separted when this came out i had to hear this b4 i went to my 6th grade class i knew that Dolly was special big time shes unreal and a great songwriter..

  • Great performance and a classic! Thank you!

  • wasnt this song played at the end of a movie?

  • wish movie?

  • patrick 1.5 :)

  • @dollyabba "Patrick 1,5"

  • @thagingerbreadman If you're Dutch, at the end of the series Dunya and Desie

Love this song, it is so cute

  • @thagingerbreadman The movie "Patrick 1,5" used it in the movie and at the end. I don't think it was the Dolly version however.

  • @thagingerbreadman I think you're right, but I can't think of what movie. This is gonna drive me nuts now!

  • @EKS511 i think it was smokey and the bandit...i know it was a burt reynolds movie

  • i live in the hood and i sing this to myself sometimes...im not afraid to say i love this song

  • Isn't this song about Burt Reynolds?

  • no she sings this in 1977

and dolly play the best little .... in 1982

  • Oh ok...then she must have been singing it about Don Knotts, with whom she had a long, passionate affair...

  • xDDDDDDDDDD oh dear.

  • @bryan10011mc god, I hope not lol

  • Her voices is distinct and a pleasure to listen to, her lyrics are truthful and universal, but honestly, her performance always makes me wonder if she even understands the depth of the songs she has written. She looks like Shirley Temple at a high school assembly.

  • Agreed dcarbonaro; great music nonetheless

  • See. Here's proof. There was some good music that came out of the 70s. Not a lot. But some.

  • Dolly is the best female country singer ever!

  • There is no-one like Dolly, a living angel

  • She is sooo cute. I just adore her.

  • dolly is a gem!

  • I grew up listening to this stuff. Wow.

  • Priceless performance! Great song from a great singer/songwriter, gorgeous, too!

  • Actually, she didn't write this one; it's one of the few exceptions. Mann/Weill wrote it.

    Still a great song, though.

  • Dolly at the top of her game. I always thought she was a very UNDERated singer. One of the greatest 'feel good' songs of all time.

  • one of my fav songs of all time

  • bigger star??! she is so fucking successful lol

  • sometimes i think she would have been an even bigger star if she had smaller breasts. People outside the country music world just didn't give her singing and songwriting ability and even her natural beauty enough attention...she was mainly just the punch line for thousands of men and young boys (including me) back then

  • Almost true. She has always had a strong gay following. Us queers don't look at her breasts, we listen to her message and relate to her music. But, sadly you're right, she has been the but of many a tit joke, and the kewl thing is, she laughs right along with them... :)

  • I agree, Dolly is a treasure and her wonderful voice, talent and charisma can be taken for granted by some who think more notes equals better singing. Dolly is a great singer and didn't rely on studio production or marketing to con people. She sings from her heart and it shows. Those who were there during this time I'm sure remember her as a great artist, performer and wonderful woman.

  • I saw her Wednesday night. She was. AMAZING.

And apart from her voice and her amazing stories.

Her ACCENT was just amazing. It was just kind of unreal! When she's talking about the smopkey mountains and stuff, I just had to pinch myself and realise who it was that was standing about 100 metres away from me!

  • omd u saw her in concert!! i want to see her more than anythin in the world!!!!

  • AMaZING you are great

  • i have this song on 45 vinyl record

  • with the black cover from 3 dolly s ?

  • Looking quintessentially '70s in a red and white polka-dotted shirt (knotted at the waist), bell bottom jeans and platform shoes.

  • wow, she is amazing!!!

  • yes she is

  • whoa, it's really different from carly's version!!! dolly's amazing for writing this. the lyrics are superb. but i prefer carly's slower, more emotive arrangement. just an opinion!

  • I think Dolly didn't write this one but she's the best anyway

  • Not even todays Country singer can compare to her! She will always b da best no matter wat!

  • Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil were the writers. Great tune!

  • parton rocks:)keep it up ma'am

  • Go Dolly!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yes go dolly haha

  • I agree...she is a legend, and in her own lifetime too!!This track (written by Dolly too,i seem to recall) has such a memorable melody line, which is lovely, and Miss Dolly founds in fine fettle!!She has such a unique voice...as soon as ya hear the first few notes of ANY track that Dolly sings, she is instantly recognizable and almost everythin she choses ta sing is good!!This track stands out for me personally...great!!A+

  • I like this live version of this song...I have not really seen her do this too much..but I do recall it done on Hee Haw years ago! Rock on dolly!! She is truly one of country's ( if not over all ) best of all time !

  • Love it, the Carly SMithson (studio version) is great too but Dolly is Dolly!!!

  • what a singer fantastic woman have grown up with her music and still love it 34 years old well done dolly xx

  • timeless classic

  • Hope Dolly can read this: It happened on a boarding school in (Cuba-1978)(at the time, those caught listening to US music were expelled from school). I entered the Principal's office one night and turn on PA. I then tuned in a Miami radio station (W.G.B.S). Dolly was singing this song. I maxed the volume, so all the school could hear it. I then locked the office and fled. The music was on for 20 min cause they could not open the door. Luckily I was never caught.

This song moves me every time.

  • Hahaha, classic. Good work fella!

  • LoL,really good work!!! :D

  • I'm pretty sure this was from the TV special "Fifty Years of Country Music" in 1978.

  • thanks

  • Unfortunately, I'm old enough to have actually watched it when it first aired. :-(
