I grew up in Baltimore , and it is a good place to live. That is if you live in the county. Some of these shots were taken at the inner harbor. That is designed for the tourists. Some great places there too. Head north from the inner harbor to Lombard, or Baltimore street if you want to get the true flavor of the city. Only in groups of three or more though. Fell Point is a great place to bar hop. Many different experiences can be had in one evening, and it's safe too. Hope I helped .

Baltimore is a major metropolitan area just like any other city. It's peak population was during the 50's with almost 1 million people in the city alone. Due to the crime and drug culture, the population has been nearly cut in half over the past 50 years. But Baltimore is probably more urban than any city in America just on a smaller scale. It definately ain't suburban or rural. Just go to the east side of North Ave or down town to see that.

Baltimore is in the state of Maryland in the central part of the state. It's only about a 30 drive from Washington D.C. It gets alot of tourists due to it's history, the Inner Harbor and professional sports, however it is overshadowed by the dark cloud of homocide and the illegal drug market.

A. The power plant is for tourist or white kids from the burbs (which is cool). But these dudes are absolute punks...if u have been to the PP, walk about 300 yards to the east and see how hard you are. Not very Im sure....either the Italians or the blacks will kick u ass....

The Inner Harbor is the only Oasis in Baltimore where white folk can go and dance (badly)! Half the Baltimore Police Dept. is there, and will split your black mans wig for looking cross eyed. White folk come from out of town and run back to their friends how "great" Baltimore is, but they were not in B-More at all.

Well Baltimore isn't proud of its black community, because, unfortunetly, the black community has turned into one of the highest murder rates and crimes in the city, I know, I live here unfortunetly.

Been that way a long time. But by the same token, Baltimore has the most articulate and intelligent people running the city who happen to be black -- the mayor of Baltimore is a black woman. I lived there for years and was part of the white minority. It is a good city, in many ways. It is unfortunate that there is black on black crime.

I agree. I am sad that O'Malley is gone. Shelia Dixon has too much political baggage to do any good. From the scandels of hiring and giving contracts to friends to the way she is turning the BCPD into the Gestapo to raise her capture rate (IE: Arresting homeless on charges of vandalism just because they sleep on the street to raise her capture rate). I seriously doubt she'll win come fall.

Yeah, I don't think you represented Baltimore right... I'll take a wild guess, but anywhere from 85-95% of Baltimore city is probably black.
The only nice part of Baltimore is the inner harbor and fells point. the rest is a huge ghetto. Walk in any direction for two minutes in that city, and you're likely to be in a trashy area where you'll get shot and killed, and then raped, and then shot again, and then robbed.

Damn. Times change. Too much light for Fells Point as I knew it and too many college types for my memory. I mean, it used to be rough. I lived about two minutes from the Power Plant. I lived in a loft above Jeppi Nut Company, not far from Dunbar High School. I am so old, I remember the Power Plant when it was a power plant. What happened to all the black people?
