  • The only Cornish Pasty I've ever had was in the Newcastle train station. I realize it's not the same but it was as close as I could find! :c

  • Fantastic..Philps are making plenty out of the "cornish Pasty" and claiming to be the best in the WORLD!!!! I thought that CORNISH pasties could only be made in Cornwall (according to the Cornish lol) Well I make them here in Thailand and they are Fantastic (took a few mistakes on the way!)...and I call them traditional CORNISH Pasties...hehe

  • I've been to Philp's and I've got to say, they make the BEST pasties I've ever had!

  • No proper cornish pasty has mince in, this is something some shops make for kids or emmits as they can't handle the steak! I have been eating pasties for years and although Lavenders are good, Philps are the best. Rowes are a bit too comercial now. My only tip to tourists is don't eat warrens, they are NOT nice! And as for Gingsters, just don't even breathe their name in the same lifetime as the word pasty, they are not connected!

  • @gordonlyle

No one does a "Proper" Cornish pasty anymore, which is meat filled in one end, any type of meat, and desert in the other end.

  • cock

  • stop using that crap on your hair , you're as bald as a cock already.

    shit , another chinese douche

  • the best pasty is just up the road from philp's, under the viaduct there's a butchers called hampsons, they are properjob me ansome.cheers an gone

  • First one looks pretty burnt to me. I would certainly have some watties with that.

  • This is basically a video of someone eating pasties, and you dont eat pasties from the side >.<

  • @jamii192 Oh and i live right next to there, theres another mini philps up along the road aswell

  • @jamii192 lol! i never understood that, hayles such a tiny place and yet they needed two for a place that size????

  • Top pasties?

    1 My House

    2 Philps

    3 Rowes

$ Wareens but have not tried them for years so do not really know

Lavenders?...no as they are not Cornish people..foreigners.

  • @WELLBRAN to be honest with you rowes are 10x better than philps when i tryed them.

  • Next time, get the camera man to stand with his back to the wind, we can't hear you properly

  • sorry about htat. I've got proper audio stuff now so my new videos don't suffer from this anymore

top 3 pasties you can go for down here is

    (Personal opinion)

    1: lavenders

    2: philps

    3: Rowes

  • thanks for the info. I'll check it out next time i'm down that way :)

  • @booker90 where is lavenders?

  • @booker90 no philps ftw

  • u dont have 2 be in cornwall 2 have a pasty lol, u dont have 2 be in china 2 hav chinese food,

  • very true :)

  • @kwaichi As a Cornishman I find it very difficult to find a real Cornish pasty outside of Cornwall. As for chinese food, British chinese food is different from American chinese food is different from all the different kinds of real chinese food from the different regions of China. Where you are often makes a big difference.

  • @SarthorS obviously you haven't been anywhere much then.

  • @MusicIzMySavior aye but you have to be in cornwall to have a REAL pasty, and you have to be in china to have REAL chinese food

  • @kicker599 No you do not, thats absurd man

  • i'm getting hungry, damn it!!!

  • think steak, think pastry mmmmmmm......

  • the bestone is from.... tyhat company with the black packaging

  • what is bestone?

  • Can you give us run-down of the ingredients? My Dad's were very specific and he tried MANY different variations.

But the one that made the cut are simple and OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Created by my grandfather in Michigan. He owned and ran a bakery.

  • I know it has potato, a stewing beef steak and not much else.

  • Yeah, the only other thing he put in was onion (and of course, s & p) Oh, and for his, the beef was round steak.

  • Yes Rowe, I think the original one in Falmouth burnt down a long time ago, i think they reopened a short while afterwards.

    Agas gwellas.

  • I think it's hilarious that you're now a food critic as well, but I appreciate the cultural aspect of it. That thing is HUGE. It looks like a giant dumpling.

  • Having grown up in a restaurant I've always been a critical of food :)

  • I had no idea. What sort of cuisine was it? It's been a while since I've checked your sites...are you married yet? Btw, if I don't talk to you before then, have a lovely Christmas! I have enjoyed all of your projects this year and look forward to seeing what you come up with for 2010!

  • Listen me ansom get your facts straight, Devon invented the 'pasty', but you bloody Cornish nicked it and called our 'Pastry' a pasty. Bloody el.

  • lolz. i'll have to come and try a devon pastry too :)

  • No, no, no, no, no! My mum makes the best pasties :)

    I'm eating one RIGHT NOW!

  • ok i'll come around your place too then :)

  • No, Sorry....my Dad made the best pasties

    EVER! =D

  • Minced beef?

The best ones are from the bakery Rose in Falmouth or the ones my nan makes.

    Phelps no way!

  • i'll visit your mum next time i'm down that way :)

  • yeah pretty much lolz

  • I'm a Cornishman from Penzance. Rose and a local butcher in Hayle make the best pasties!

  • what's the name of the local butcher?

  • the wind sound on this is terrible! that cornish pie is massive.

  • That look's like a pizza bomb we have in the U S.

  • i'll have to try that out in november!

  • damn that looks good

  • :) .

  • I needed to put my best headphones in, and put the vol up to the top's, lol

  • yeah the wind was pretty bad...

  • wow, great vlog, great 177,01° hip-twist shot, very detailled view of the pasty, couldnt see the crackling or the ingredients, nor listen to kwai munchin, but all over really good color and vibrance! very appealing corner for the gourmand, just as fine as the weather. lol, thumbs up. ;p

  • the weather was horrible lolz :p

  • pls dont forget to ask them, if they would like to establish a branch store right here in germany, where i live!

  • lolz. why don't you ring them up. details are in the description.

  • Wind Interference but great otherwise, the pastries looked really good! I want one now lol!

  • lolz.

  • Pity about the wind playing up with your mic, but the pasty's looked good. You still seemed to be enjoying it even without much meat, you must have been really hungry LOL

They were so big, big enough to feed a family hahaha

Not sure if you said it but they were made for the miners and farmers years ago, the thick crust was for them to hold without getting dirt in their mouths, they also used to make some with half sweet and the other half savory in the filling.

    5*****

  • i was really hungry that day. it was pretty late in the day. plus i was winding up john who was holding the cam lolz :)

  • Southend UK

  • i've been there!

  • Couldn't watch, audio was terrible, shame, they looked tasty as well :P

  • I tried cleaning it up but it was impossible. it was so windy there

  • now THAT's a pasty

  • yeah lolz

  • Did they have veggie pasties?

  • they had a few different varieties. it's on the black board i think

  • Kwai's got me droolin'.

  • that looks so good, i want one

  • if you buy enough of them they might deliver...

  • By the way I think you're supposed to eat from top down, not the side. But maybe that's just me.

  • I was told to eat it one side then the other after I made this vid but it made no difference

  • The audio is terrible Kwai, but that does look like one amazing pasty.

  • Haha, thats nice

  • cheers :)
