I remember on my first day of skiing, my grandpa held on to me when I got off the chairlift most of the day. On our very last run, I wanted to get off myself. I leaned to far forward, faceplanted, and when I lifted my head up, the chair hit me in the back of the head and gave me a concussion. I didn't get off by myself again until my fifth day.

It's understandable that you're traumatized, so to speak. It's worth it to try again, but make sure it's peak season so that there's lot's of puffy powder and no(t so much) ice. Also wear a helmet and bum pads (so that you don't have to hurt the tailbone, or that sucker will keep you on pillows for a month if you're unlucky, and days if you're lucky) :) Think of it this way: You already know what to look out for!!

I have past level 5 but I have never ever used a chair lift and in december im going on a ski trip in france but they have chair lifts im a bit scared if I foul up big time. The only lift I have used is the pole one and the lift type one. Which one is easier a chair lift or the pole lift. :-[
