They used FX Lightsabers which are EXACT replicas of a lightsaber in the movies. They have a beam feature that looks real. They cost a hell of a lot though

that was video editing cause you cant see the glowing lightsaber in the day time. so of course they edited it

Try to pause at 2:05 and look closely at the density effect when the camera is close to the light saber, and also look at the effect of the glow compared to the ones made in after effects or visionlab. Also consider the glowing reflection on the actor's skin when it's at night. Oh and there are no glowing around the edges of the lighsaber. Unless it's some really HIGH end compositing and editing, than it's not special effects.
