I'm pleased to read all these compliments for Karen. She was a fantastic teacher and performer. However she couldn't have won without her partner, Mark, who was outstandingly good. They were the best ever.

The problem with the program now is the judges - especially Aleshia and Bruno but not Craig - overmark. To the extent that I think it is a joke and you cannot compare old series with now purely on this basis. Tens come now too easily

Remember the days when Arlene was a judge and the contestants got some sensible, informative and practical feedback on their dance? Alesha's comments only ever seem to repeat what the other judges said, or are limited to 'you had a good go' or 'you really performed it'.

@oitsonlikedonkeykong Not really a the nicest comment to leave, but still I agree this years show is amazing, and certainly the best series evere. The change of Producer really has livened things up. Halloween show was outstanding.

@conradmurray I disagree, I preferred the show when there were never any themes, and proper songs were chosen and there wasn't so much effect, I mean a bit of lighting is really good, I just feel that for Series 8 they went too far with the props, themes, lighting etc. I preferred it when it was just a proper fun latin salsa and stuff like that. I know you'll disagree and shout at me but that's what I think

Karen is an excellent teacher and she was incredibly lucky to be paired up with such a talented partner. He was able to let his facial expressions and acting ability add to the performance. As well as having natural rhythm In addition he is clearly loving loving dancing. Being extremely fit must have also helped.

One of the best dance routines!! shame Karen is not in the show this year, she has such a great personality & energy. No disrespect to Alesha, but I think the BBC made a mistake making her a judge, Karen is a professional dancer so surely this qualifies her to be a better judge - maybe next year hopefully.
