I MEMBER CRUISIN EAST LOS ANGELES, WHITTIER BLVD IN THE EARLY 70'S....ALSO MEMBER GOIN TO TOMMYS...THEY WERE DIFFERENT...DID NOT CARE JUST PARTYING AND CRUISIN...BUT WE NEVER HURT ANYONE...LIKE TODAY...SURE MISS THOSE DAYS...THOSE DAYS ARE GONE...BUT THE MUSIC LIVES ON
Hey sinders4, some of us were fortunate to live close by the Blvd. When there was no car, we could take a short walk and hang out in front of Jack in the Box. Those were the days you could have money or not and still have a good time.
New Year's eve on the blvd. was the biggest block party you would regret to miss.
The huggie boy show was awesome, I went to school with his daughter and hung out with her now and then, as they lived down the street of me. I used to hang out on whittier boulevard, when cruising was bumper to bumper, literally. I was hanging down their maybe the year of 75, 76 ? okay, it was new years eve, and looting started right at midnite, when everyone just left their cars as they were to get out and kiss the rucas, and break some windows on the little stores on the boulevard. good times!
@sinders4 Dude, I was born in East L.A. and cruized Whittier Blvd in the late 60's/like 1967-68...We could get addresses of parties, proms, Birthday Bashes, Weddings...And we crashed each and every one of them, Loved Tommy's burgers and did the beach scene in Venice, hit up all the clubs in Hollywood, but never knew of anyone breaking windows and such as you describe as Good Times?Hmm, But our lives were different , than they are now!! Keep the faith and Peace out! ..a hippie from the 60's*)
These guys played at my school's homecoming every year from '63 to '66. They were more of a dance band than a concert band. Very popular on the east side.
If anything at least this song if not the group should be in the R&R Hall of Fame. This is as classic as it gets...I'm not hispanic but have friends who are..Right on East L.A.

I was wondering how many people actually noticed the tambourine falling behind?

I like how the tambourine is not keeping up, and finally gives up altogether! And oh yeah, rockinest tune!
