I have this strat in tobacco sunburst. It's a great guitar. However, this demo is not very good. The player did not really understand the S-1 system. Saying, "it give you different sounds" is not an explanation. Are there any morons out there who think it is supposed to do something other than give you different sounds? What it actually does is take the pick-ups in and out of phase and, in the mid position, allow all three pick-ups to be active. Something not possible on a standard Strat.

does the locking machines effect your playing for example i like to bend alot ? using the machine-head locks will strings break more easily because of lack of movement

And they have compound radius,between 9.3 and 14.Nice flat necks,no more choking out.I have tried one,and I´m buying it within a week.Usually I have been Ibanez Jem user,but I´m helpless with this new Fender.They are awesome.

I think ill go with an american standard and swap out the pickups and pots to "bourns" low friction pots and seymour duncan SSL-1 bridge and SSL-5 neck. and leave the middle. i know fender guitars have degraded over the years, but ive got friends who have some, and i still love em!

I just purchased one of these... They're like $1,399.00 USD. Coolest color I've ever seen for a stock Strat! Pull out the shitty N3 pups though... A triplet of EMG SAV's and a SPC control is the best sound you'll ever get from a Strat.

The pop in trem bar will get loose after a few weeks. There are two allen screws on the trem block which can be tightened to increase the grip on the bar.

The two point floating bridge is a major improvement over the classic bridge. Holds it's tune much better and if you drop in the Schaller locking tuners it's as good as it gets.

The Deluxe has a contoured heel on the back of the neck pocket that improves reach in the upper register.

@gustiii2 I believe that all Fender Strats require the whammy bar to be screwed in.  I know the Fender Mexican Standard Strats do anyway, but I'm not sure about the American Deluxe Strats...I would assume that it'd be the same though.

Got one had it for around three years, it`s been perfect. It`s beutifull plays great and has no faults, might change it for this model with plain maple neck. With most other guitars i have found something wrong with them, but this thing is built to the very highest standards, and it shows over the standards. One thing i have found is that to truly get the very best from them you need a really nice valve amp, mine sounds best through my suprsonic with some reverb and a little dirt.

i got that same exact strat, same finish, pickguard everything. loved the versatility offered by the s1 switching, but wanted even more out of it. gutted those pickups, put stacked humbuckers in. i kept the s1, and added a coil tap and had everything wired together. in the end i still have the old sound (better single coil, not the lifeless s1, single coil +s1, humbuckers, humbuckers s1. 20 switch options. i have videos of it

also he never meantioned the contour heel and they use select alder or quality ash wood for body. still think its better to buy a good second hand usa strat for £500 mark and upgrade the pups and put locking tuners on for about £175.

I hate the S-1 switching system and pickups. I replaced the pickups with a JB jr. in the Bridge, Cool Rails in the middle, and a Hot rails in the Neck.  The guitar is so sexy.
