Brings back memories from my military service as a conscript seargent and head of one of these SAM units. The guys that received a few months simulator training got ridiculously skilled in shooting accurately with these laser guided missiles. We practiced using laser beam detectors attached to Viggen planes operated by the Air Force and also fired sharp missiles on towed "sausage targets" and not once did I see a missed target. No IR, no radar, no radio, it's all laser and 100% unjammable.
RBS70 system is not good for real air defence. When plane attack you from 30 m, you have at most 1-2 sec. to lock plane and shut it down. With RBS70 you need at least 5 seconds of visual contact with the plane (distance 3km; rocket speed 600m/s; plane speed from you 0m/s=5 sec, in real situation 10-12 sec.) Infra red MANPADS are much better for real war-time air defence (Igla-S, Stinger, Mistral, Strela 2M).
it cant be jammed yet. i always envisioned a multi frequency jammer that quickly runs a bunch of frequencies until it find the one that is guiding the missile and then it projects the beam away from the aircraft with much more force so the land guidance is too weak to function.
It's a laser beam rider. Operator points electro-optics at target and maintains laser beam pointing at target. Rear reference sensor on tail of missile look backwards towards launch platform and stays in the beam. Has proximity sensor to detonate when near the target. Cannot be jammed.
@wepsone The auto-tracker tracks the target's IR signature, right? That means it CAN be jammed by flares and active IR jammers... unless you track it manually.

The laser guidance also means it's only line of sight.

training to use a beam riding missile must be a bitch

probably, but the enemy can't jam it though :D

Its un jammable, because theres nothing to jam.

Plus it has dual use capability against ground targets.

@Wiromax3 you're right the system is almost unjammable.

New NG version has auto tracker. Operator just has to point in general direction of target and autotracker takes care of pointing the laser beam.

would you happen to know how it tracks? via inferred, or some other way?

It's not that difficult the Army let's peole try the simulators at almost every public event they participate in.
Just keep the target in the crosshairs till it explodes.
It's not as portable as a stinger but it's much much harder to Jam.
