This disease is indeed, awful. I watched my husband deteriorate on a daily basis and it started with a raspy throat and slightly slurred words. The symptoms are similiar to a stroke and ALS is difficult to diagnose. I pray for all of the families out there that are affected by Lou Gehrig's disease. A cure must be found. The only medication to date is Rilutek or Riluzole and does not have a good efficacy rate. Other meds have shown promise, but nothing else is approved by the FDA. Please help.
