I hope you sent your friend a bottle of wine or something. That was very generous of him. If I did one of these with my boring record collection it would sound like, "Here we have a record by the glam rock band Kiss called Love Gun....." 3 views.
Nice--those two Eyes Of Blue LP's....Hub is related to Rare Earth, Goodthunder is related to Steppenwolf, and Help Yourself is related to Man. and High Tide is perhaps my fave of the boxload.
Wow, this is inspirational and informative. I've been collecting records for about 8 years now and these are the kind of windfalls you dream about. We have similar tastes, too. It'd be great to talk music sometime.
Yet I see a VG- 45 copy of "Disco Duck" selling for $9.74 on eBay, and they'll be lucky to resell it for 2% of that! If you want the popular hits, only buy in bulk lots!
Wow.....two Kaleidoscope LP's. Too bad neither are Side Trips or Beacon From Mars, but still a great find. Then, to get the two Chris Youlden London solo LP's. I call that manna from heaven.
In fact Dan sent me both of those two other Kaleidoscope albums in ANOTHER box. Pretty cool, huh? Prior to that, all I had by the group was a copy of Side Trips that didn't have the record -- just the cover.
Finally found someone else with the Diane Hildebrand.."Early Morning Blues and Greens". She never really had that big 'hit'. which would have made for the second album, that never was. Really thought that "For Rea, who died last summer", was hauntingly memorable...wherever did Diane go?
I too am a fan of Diane. Do you remember a version of her "Early Morning Blues & Greens" that had a what sounds like a calliope line? I heard that version on KLIF when I lived in Dallas in 1968. I have a poor tape recording of it, but have never heard that version elsewhere. Any info would be appreciated.
Could you tell Me which issue of Rolling Stone had the ad for Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine? Even just what was on the cover? Please help me... I'm a HUGE fan of the Doors and even something like that is very cool to have (To me, anyway :D)... And I'd very willingly pay good money For an old magazine on ebay... Thanks and great Collection!
(I Think) it would be cool if you made a video touring your "Archive" of records.Your videos are really informative and have taught me a ton, ive seen all of them.
Just surfin around. I am Bob Gorman from the band Fresh. It was a good band, but does not represent us, as we were at all. In fact the only contribution that we made to Fresh out of Borstal, was vocal from me on, SEE YOU LATER. Anyway, good to see its not forgotten. Bob
Your knowledge of these records and the time period is incredible. I'm 55 and you know more about these small records than anyone I know, and I know more than anybody I know.
Thanks! I do certainly do some research, though, so I would encourage you and anyone else interested in this stuff to do some hunting--you may be surprised at the amount of information regarding this stuff.
i was just starting to get into the more unpopular 60s phyc/pop and folk and my two favorite bands are the box tops and 13nth floor elevators and even these are very more commom and popular but anyway i was lucky to come across your videos(im 13) thanks!
Mondo obscuro! Lots of interesting stuff in there. I shared a concert stage with at least a couple of those acts "in the day." The next time I make a trip to "the shed" I'll look through my 50 year old record collection and offer some to you.
One of my most favourite vinyls I have is Harvey Mandels Cristo Redentor which strongly features Charlie Musselwhite. Dont think we'll be seeing any of it on uchoob any time soon...... High Tide is xlnt too, there is some posted. Cheers Kurt

Dan must be a wealthy guy to toss you a box of LPs that could likely sell on e-bay for $1000.00 or so if in M- condition!

Coolation. Digging all the obscure vinyl. I'll have to research some of those.
Funny, I have 2-3 copies of the Black Mass album. I think I've got the Wozard of Iz too haha. I don't think I've ever seen the Sea Drift LP though.
