@tyler197802198 This is the original audio. It's not quite in sync because they recorded the audio and video separately but at the same time, then spliced the recordings together with some program.
or rather they recorded the original audio and video of themselves dancing to cold turkey, which is why you can hear them laughing in one of the parts and then layered the song Cold Turkey on top of the video so you can hear the song better with a higher quality. They were definitely dancing to Cold Turkey though.
It's unfortunate the video had to be sped up. To me Blues dance is about savoring the music not rapid moves that thrill the onlooker. This dance doesn't look tailored to "cold turkey" in fact, it looks like it could have been danced to any song. It's sad that we have to use fancy moves and speed up footage in order to impress. Whatever happened to soul, emotion, brevity, pause, whatever happened to musicality...?
I see what you're saying and I agree to some extent, but not all blues is slow... faster dancing can be thrilling. And the fact that the music was put on top could contribute to the out-of-sync, not going with the song feeling you mention. Now that said, they *were* definitely showing off! Just the fact that they were being recorded would change it from a partner to partner exchange to a partner-partner-camera exchange. :)
Wow. That was amazing. I saw a little neo-tango in there - I'm thinking I need to learn that next to improve my blues. (not that I'm anywhere close to what you two just did!)
This is much trickier than it looks. These guys are so fluid and make it look so easy. Lessa moves like a mermaid and Lucky just lets her, while holding his ground. Just awesome. There's obviously some Lindy Hop moves in this sketch. Probably to take the edge off.
This is really inspiring you guys. Great dancing from a technical and creative point of view.
Ungus:
For the sake of accuracy, I'd say this is Blues & Swing cross-over, not straight Blues dancing. Most of us do this to some extent anyway, so that may not matter much.
If you try to find a Lindy Hop community near you you will probably find blues dancing eventually. :)
This is blues, and its fantastic. Look online to check out if there is a blues community in your area. I took up blues very recently in Austin. I found it by first getting involved with swing dancing. Good luck!

Dang, you 2 are so fluid and saucy together. Just very impressive. I hope to get to that level someday.
