Ähmm..if i listen to the recording...the bass-drum nearly sounds like the snare drum: knack knack knack. To much dynamic compression in here or what!?!? Same shitty and "loud" production as most metal band around. Sad!!!!

You can do this, but if you do, you have to use a loadbox or otherwise you fry your tubes... Check out the SPL loadbox with integrated speakersimulation!

Actually, the cabs are just in a different room, probably connected by a very long speaker cable. This is why they mention using the SM57 at the end

plug head straight into mixer by recording in DI (direct input) gives a cleaner more pure tone but doesnt have the same balls as using a cab

could just be arpeggio's not necessarily sweeping...

everyone in DT is quite capable for making your face melt, considering they've been around for pretty much 20 years.

True, but it does sound like he is playing on more strings than just going up and down the neck, and it makes more since to sweep arpeggios like that instead of playing them on just one or two strings. And yeah DT is one of the best bands ever.

Brandstrom's got a pretty cool studio, I'm noticing. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing if they'll be taking their music in a new direction (as they did with Projector), or if they'll be expanding on Fiction's sound. I'm hoping for the former, but we'll have to see.
