  • Where did you buy CPM 154 ?

  • @fr76ank alphaknifesupply

  • cool stuff, bro!

can't wait to see the results of it!

  • ☆☆☆☆☆

  • You're going to be a busy boy, cant wait to see what craziness comes out of your head onto that steel! I love CPM3V, tough as nails. Looking forward to the unveiling(s) already. Have fun with that lot!

  • @Lifegiver321 yeah man i love 3v too. once you're good/decent at sharpening you dont really care how hard is something to sharpen but the quality and toughness of the steel. and it certainly is one hell of a steel :) thanks for watching :)

  • uuu Someone is getting into custom CUSTOM knives :D haha great stuff man!!!

  • @TheLazySpoiledKitty yeah man, finally hahaha. i dont know why i didnt do it long time ago lol. i guess other people and better finances finally pushed me to give it a try

  • That titanium knife is *amazing*

All i have is the micro Ti pry bar :(

  • Very cool stuff !!

  • You're gutsy for working with Titanium and micarta, I laugh when I hear "Toxic green micarta," considering that it is toxic, lol.

You know what you could do, is make a titanium knife with G-10 to make the most hazardous knife ever to your health! Lol.

I'm sorry, I can't resist. I really like the G-10, but the stuff is awful to work with, I was coughing for a month when I worked with the linen micarta, ugh. Be careful with that stuff, mate!

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84 micarta actually isnt that bad. most of these materials arent really toxic, its just the g10 and its fibers inside can cause cancer in the lungs(kind of like asbest). but i do always wear $100+ full face protection mask form 3M so that should be pretty darn safe. but yeah, like you said. micarta even though its not all that harmfull is nasty. it might not kill you but it certainly wont make you feel good lol.

  • @gavkoo

Well, it will make you sick if you don't wear a respirator, also fiberglass in the lungs will hurt badly, probably do some damage. Stuff doesn't sit well with me, you can smell it a mile away, clings to clothes and hurts like hell if inhaled, I'll pass and just stick with my assortment of exotic woods, lol.

I too have a good respirator, a P100, sometimes the stuff finds its way past, though.

  • my faves are the titanium wharncliffes you designed. i love those shapes gav. you keep getting better and better my friend. i wish you all the best with your full customs. and im still loving my neck knife i bought from you. early work of yours but still great stuff my friend. im hoping you could do some more file work on folders. the filework you did on that persistance was crazy beautiful.

  • very nice GAV

  • cool job bud

  • Man I really like the looks of the larger one with the reverse tanto

  • congrats brother! really looking forward to seeing the creations come to life! awesome to see it all coming together for you man!

  • your on the way man,,,have you,by any chance read/looked thru,Wayne Goddards"50$knife shop"book, good read lots of valuable info, for the beginner or established bladesmith,if not check it out.and keep up the good work

  • great work man...

  • when you are sending these all to Peters, are they splitting up the steels to heat-treat seperately? they are not just throwing them all together I hope?

  • if you dont get that bevel down to about 1mm or less before heat treat I can assure you, that if you think it was hard doing that, you will be screwed after heat treat.

  • Hey Gavkoo, where do you send your 154cm for heat treatment?!?!? I have some blades I want to heat treat & I was gonna use Texas Knife Makers, do you have a better heat treat source??

  • Your gonna want the edge down to like .02-.025 atleast before heat treat. Also make sure all your holes are drilled prior to heat treat.

  • Looks like FUN!!! I love Reverse tantos

Looking forward to your new knife videos dude

  • Damn love that necker can't wait to see more of that one, I might have to buy it from u if you can part with it!

  • Your going to be busy lol

  • @ryanrrx lmao im always busy bro

  • Looking good, keen to see these progressing to finished products.

  • @AussieMark909 thanks man, im curious about the progress myself haha

  • CPM154 is exactly the same composition as 154cm, except it's the powder metallurgy version. The edge retention is a lot better on the CPM154, good stuff.

  • @jdavis882 i thought its about the same just wasnt sure. i guess it has to have same composition to be called certain name lol. just different manufacturer... its my favorite steel so thats why i picked it. but should have picked thinner, im definitely not looking forward to grind these thick stocks lol

  • Very cool man, some people dream it, you are doing it! Keep it up!

  • Make some more so I can buy one :)

  • Awesome! I wish I had a 1/10th of your talent. The 2nd blade was sweet, you decide you aren't happy with it you can mail it to me! LOL

  • Lookin' good!! Loving the designs! Quick tip: be sure to get rid of any scratches or dents you don't want shining through before heat treating! That's a tough thing to do after heat treat! What do you use to cut out your knives?

  • Awesome designs there brother! i going to have to order the first one you showed (but in a thinner steel) sweet shape, i have some timber here that would make siick scales for it! digg'n all the designs bro the finished Ti is just beautiful! man i can see some very sweet blades coming from you, keep up the awesome work bro, best wishes and take care my dear freind

  • hey gav i started my custom knife project today, i'm doing a video of what i've done so far, can i send you the video ?? i would like to see if you could tell me how to improve on it ; ) Awesome projects you got going there gav : ) can't wait for the results

  • Those are nice man. I think you'll find the cpm 154 is a LOT better than 154cm

  • Hey could you show how to get the shape of the second knife I think I really want to make this one

  • sweet!

  • amazing looking knives ! how did you cut your blanks? i use a hack saw chisels and files .... takes forever .. but its a good work out lol . i hope to see some CRAZY designs . keep up the awesome work !
