As a child, this Choir was huge, powerful and so strong, then I attended the last performance in Munich, Germany. There was no one in the Audience who did not have Tears, the Choir was so small - the VOICES were so powerful.
A most memorable evening.

@GermanSench My grandfather was also a Don Cossack... he was German :) I still have his robes and a photo of him wearing them. He solos "Abenglocken" on this album "Deutsche Grammophon 30209 Don Kosaken Chor Serge Jaroff - Russische Gesänge" They needed a Tenor and he was it... changed his name to A. Stanislavitsch (with the sch ending)

Kazzakh are not Russian regardless of how many times Pravda tries to preach it so. The original Don Cossack choir started out as a road show of prisoners paraded around by the Russians. Those originals were to a man from what is now called the Ukraine (plus some highland slavs) and were supporters of the Tsar who had historically defended them against attempts by russian nobility to make serfs out of them. Not many of that blood survived Stalin's inflicted starvations. NOT Russian.
