why would you approach a known killer who was clearly testing him because of the way he looked at him as he entered the store. The guard says he has a wife and kids and risked all that for two lollipops that the owner didn't care that he took. This scene explains the character of Marlo. Unlike poker his life was a series of events that played out and worked favorably to his advantage. Marlo wasn't bright (he probably was borderline retarded) but the dice rolled in his favor. Avon gettin locked up, Having Bodie whacked before he could snitch, gettin the connect, Omar gettin killed.
