I think the foam is pretty expensive... But you could buy many madrasses and then cut them in many pieces.... I dont know if it would work, but I have thought about that many times, but never tried it. (I dont need a foam pit :) )

try to find a pillow or mattress factory they dont use all the cut off so they'll give them two you almost free or free.
