why is cannibal holocaust an infamous movie? i thought cannibal ferox (make them die slowly) was much worse in gore and exploitation

@seanh1997v2 holocaust has a more serious message and tone. the violence and gore is portrayed more realistically, it may not have as much butt he gore it has is better and made to look like actual footage. also the rape and slaughtering of villagers for the sake of ratings is a bit more disturbing i believe.

I just watched Cannibal Holocaust. That movie is intense. I sat on my couch after it ended and I wasn't sure what I had just seen haha.  When the turtle scene happened, I was in shock. What a fucked up but awesome movie. I liked the fact that it had a message in it.

Cannibal Holocaust actually left me rather cold, the rapes in this one didn't got me, only the animal violence was pretty sick, i was rather disappointed! still need to watch Nekromantik! good stuff man!

i have parts of the soundtrack on my i-phone! the music is quiet something, i might rewatch this flick, got a copy. the poor turtle, but the monkeykilling felt sick too, one of the actors refused to do another take, with would have included another actual monkey being killed! animal cruelty is something you should only fake! the real cruel creatures are the reporters, modern world monsters, only interesting in disturbing stories and the might dollar!;)

Iv'e been trying to get Nekromantik for soo long but can't find a good price. Do you know anywhere I can get it for cheap?

bought them both for 37 euro each (nekromantik 1+2 that is).

Got a hard time to imagine them going for cheaper then that unless there's someone who sell them on ebay or some other site like it and don't know what it's worth.

Nekromantik is imo a must have, mix of very dark humor and taboos, what more could you ask for :D... Love the scene where a guy gets shot down from a tree and theres a close up cam on a gardengnome.

Is it true that the CH dvd has a version of the film with the animal cruelty cut out? Because I'm interested in seeing it, but I have a serious problem with watching a turtle get carved up on screen.

yeah i've never been one to censor a movie but u can watch it like that, it would lose some of the impact but alot of the film is still powerful.

The only movie that ever really disturbed me was Suspiria. I'd only gotten into horror movies a couple weeks before, and I was totally unprepared for it. Now, over a year later, even the soundtrack still gives me the creeps.

I have really wanted to see Cannibal Holocaust but I just can't figure out which release is the most worth while to get. It's been rereleased in 2008 but I don't know if that version of it is any good. But I would like to say that it's scarier and more shocking than The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity, and Cloverfield will ever be, even though they barowed that camera idea from it.

From what I've seen C H has handled camera footage the best simply because it shows things horificaly realistic rather than people runing around terrified.

@mrparka Recently I have seen Cannibal Holocaust and it was extremely disturbing, however already being desensitized I didn't seem to mind some things that much however there were several times where I was like WTF is happening? I don't approve of some of things they did (mainly the animal cruelty) and it was sick but I will watch it again at some point. It was not bad, it made me think. The weirdest part of all was buying it at a book store and the weird look the clerk gave me. lol

You know what really makes Cannibal Holocaust get under your skin? I mean, besides the real animal cruelty and the graphic rape scenes? It's that evil ass violin music. I'm assuming it's a violin. But that music REALLY shows you how unforgiving nature can be whenever it plays in the film. Not the feel good Italian music at the beginning and end, but the music that plays while the tribal adulteress is getting killed on the shore.
