  • I did a bunch of presets for Sonic Projects a while back so they rewarded me with a life-time free pass to their stuff. As for OP-X II? WOW. I just got it and it's incredible, 12 voices of polyphony allow you to emulate the Matrix-12 now!

  • I used to want to get Linux for this stuff, but now that I've heard this... NEVER MIND. Flat, dull, and uninspiring. Sorry, but that thing sounds like CRAPOLA.

My advice, check out the Zynaddsubfx synth and come back to me, lovely sounding oscillators and very very deep programming can be done with it. Combine it with Rakarrack (a virtual guitar FX rack) and you've got some serious sounds!

But agreed, the bristol OBX emulation would not be my first choice for any synth stuff that would be in my music. Personally, I'd go with the SIDney or Polysix emulators (though I am quite partial to the mini-moog emulation, regardless of authenticity.

  • @countfuzzball I love the Oberheim sound; hits you like a wall! This is why I've chosen this Plugin for nearly all of my music. It's called "OP-X" by SonicProjects. It's fantastic! Check out my song "Desire of Fire" to hear it in action.

I've heard that OP-X is supposed to be 'nearly' a 1:1 replica of the OB-X sound.

I'm interested to see what OP-X II will bring.
