The word "true" has different meanings.
Jesus was CONTRASTING His Father to FALSE gods of the PAGAN world, not to HIMSELF. If He was , he would have said it this way... "Only you, Father, are the true God," but he did not.
The word "only" does not modify "Father," but rather "God."
Keep in mind the word "true" can also mean "straight" but Jesus was NOT saying His Father was the only STRAIGHT line god was he?

It is of extreme interest to note that archaeologists have just discovered a tomb of early christians dating to before 70 A.D. and in that tomb they found inscribed the words "divine Jehovah" proving that the true christians of Jesus and the apostles' time called God by his name...Jehovah. I wonder with whom one would associate the name of Jehovah today???

Also, all the Greek manuscripts use the name repeatedly. Jesus also said he would make his father's name known so he also would have used it.

The NWT puts Jehovah in its correct place in Luke 4.18 from the Isaiah piece that Jesus read out. Isaiah was written 732 years BC. The Septuagint used the divine name, but it was later replaced by christianity to Lord. Again, the NWT keeps to the original texts as humanly possible. WHICH REVEALS THE REAL TRUTH.
