  • The files have a folder called "PATCHES". I tried to put the patch in there and it doesn't work. I guess the patch doesn't work with the QFG4 game I have.

  • Have you tried just putting them in the QFG4CD folder?

  • @jtd786 I don't think it has that folder. All I see is 3 folders named "INN", "PATCHES" and "WINVIDEO"

  • @jtd786 I have a feeling this isn't gonna work. I should just forget about it. *Frowns*

  • @jtd786 Maybe I can send you the files I have so maybe you can figure it out. It might really help me. Well that's if you want to.

  • The sped up death animations are a timer glitch. You should be able to find patches to fix the timer errors at sierrahelp d-o-t c-o-m

  • @jtd786 Can you explain to me how to install the patch into the game? I'm confused and I need help. The site isn't helping me really.

  • Just extract all of the files from the ZIP into the QG4CD directory. The patch isn't compatible with old saved games though, you'll have to start over from the beginning.

  • @jtd786 The patch doesn't seem to be working. The death animations are still fast and stuff. Maybe I'm doing something wrong...I dunno.

  • Try doing a fresh install from the CD, and then patching it. Make sure you do a full install and not a partial one. If you do a partial install, the game will load the unpatched files from the CD instead of the patched ones on your hard drive.

  • @jtd786 I'm not using the actual CD, I downloaded the files that are from the CD somewhere, that doesn't matter tho right?

  • I'm not sure. If you have an ISO, you should be able to use it as if it were an actual CD, but if you just have the files, I'm not sure how they're configured.

  • I was wondering, how did you slow down the death animations? When I play Quest for Glory 4 on DOS Box, the death animations like...flash through and I'm not able to really see them. Can you please help me with this problem if it's not too much to ask?

  • Oh, so by missing deaths, do you simply mean deaths missing from MrWhitman's videos?

  • Yeah, that's what I meant. Sorry for the confusion. I'll try to make the video description a little more clear.

  • I basically refer to all of the death scenes. And I meant that Katrina and Ad Avis disappear (as far as I remember) if you open the door (fully, not just a little) without listening.

  • I've never had that happen to me, so I'm guessing it's a glitch.

1: Get too close to the edge of the cliff in the beginning of the game.

2: Break into the Burgomeister's home and stay there until morning.

3: Have a Fighter force the castle gate open and lose the fight against the second Necrotaur.

4: After forcing the gate open, come back the next day and touch the gate.

5: While in the castle at night, walk in on Ad Avis and Katrina.

  • 6: Waste your mana while fighting Titania. Only Wizards can meet her.

    7. Play the notes on the Breath Altar out of order 3 times.

    8. Play the wrong note on the Breath Altar.

  • I always found it strange when you entered the squeaky door in the castle and Katrina and Ad Avis disappeared.

Were they bugs, or were they just removed? And may I ask how have you managed to play through these parts?

  • If you mean how Katrina and Ad Avis disappear after you listen to their conversation, I think they just leave the room when they're done talking.

Which parts do you mean, exactly?
