  • What a great duo they did it all First. Thanks so much for putting that up

  • they're from kentucky. not tenn.

  • I wonder what's the color of their clothes... ^_^

  • Jesus! violins! why LSD was invented......no offense bros. still the greatest but what $%^&*() you had to wade through!

  • pete townsend altered the rythm{slitely} of W.U.L.S. to write I CAN SEE FOR MILES.

  • The announcer chick at the beginning is pretty smokin' in a really classy way.

  • @FreddyBenelli

I agree with you about the announcer being a hot chick. Her name is Dinah Shore. The clip was probably 1962 or 1963.

  • @HighGradeFever2000 I'm certain that the late, great Ms. Shore would have been flattered to know that you think she was a Patti Page look alike.

  • 3 million sales and there were still teenagers!!!

  • Thanks! Favorite!

  • thanks sooooo much for sharing this !!!

" Gee Whiz, I'm dreamin’ my life away " ricky teal, floridadada

  • Hard to believe that this song was banned In Boston for being too suggestive! Charted 9/30/57 spent 4 weeks at no. 1 on Billboards list on there 26 weeks total I was only told once not to play this early at night while youngsters were doing homework. Had to wait till after 9 when I was DJyn!

  • this is a good example of why i prefer the record any day--the boys are great but no way would they have chosen to sing along to their dads orchestra!

  • Comment removed

  • great video and ive not seen this clip before. CARL

  • Wonderful......really good seeing this.....they are on of the best

  • Lagu kenangan yang indah

  • They need to lose the damn orchestra!

  • That was my impression too, that Don is a perfectionist who will pay a lot of attention to getting it just right. Just love his solo.

  • Gjør meg stadig i godt humør disse gutta, spilte ofte musikken deres for 30 år siden. Den gangen var det jo musikk vi hadde. Mest bråk på dagens musikk.

  • WOW.

    still works for me !!!

    EVEN AFTER 50 YRS

    ERIK TIELMAN, FLORIDADADAA

  • Don looks soooo young here. He looks illegal to date.

  • But yet he was marrid tohis first wife at the time!LOLHe was about 21 there.

  • Don is actually the older one.Often the darker haired on looks younger-,even if they're not---I can vouch for that!

  • "No special effects here!" Raw Jam!

  • Loved this early version and Don's solo is terrific!

  • I first heard this song in 1956 while I was a teenager in Indonesia, now I can see them sing it, great, brings me back to my good old days, thanks for posting it

  • I had to have been 1958.This was the flip side to Devoted to You,I believe.

  • @pinangsiatimur4 Me too but I was in UK.

  • Patti Page was one of the very biggest popular hitmaking artists well before rock & roll was ever invented. My first record purchased was her "How Much is That Doggie in the Window."

  • I don't know but lets tell everyone.

  • its Patti Page. She's still here today ;)

  • Who was the good looking blonde?

  • Music Today is Crap

unless it famous singers like Julie andrews and butch of tohers with powerful voices and Old Country adn New Country

but nothing will ever get like 50 and 60s and this musci was all about quality muisc

    BIG BAND AREA

i am 20 years old i listen to the oldies more

  • While the TV show's band was a big band era band, the Everlys were definitely from the (at that time) new rock era. The discrepancy in the musical styles shows here with the rockers' style clashing a bit with Patti Page's TV band playing backup.

  • Yeah wake up little Suzie's a rockabilly beat, with lotsa guitar, they turned it into swing or the Tenessee waltz or something here. Don and Phil's vocals still good though.

  • i love 50

  • MMMM!!! Love Patti Page! Sweet lovely lady from Oklahoma with a voice that melted me as a kid and still does. She always had a country leaning in her vocal style. And her beautiful multi-tracked records with her harmonizing with herself still keep me as spellbound as they did when I was very young. Then the Everly Brothers and their incredible vocal blend coming through even over the mediocre orchestral arrangement that wasn't needed. Great video! Thanks, so much, for uploading.

  • If you guys like Should we Tell Him, you should really check out The Vargas Bros. version. Amazing. Wild Records band btw.

  • Terrible. Every band member is grasping for a tempo and nobody seems to find it. Luckily their natural talent pulls them through. I'm sure after the performance there were some heated tempers.

  • That was the tv show's orchestra/backup band having the problems. The Everlys still shine through it all anyway.

  • and Don is a perfectionist, he wouldnt have been impressed with them

  • I can't believe Patti let the band play backup like this. From what I hear she and her husband were always sticklers for doing it right.

  • The two of them could've rocked that TV show with no backup musicians whatsoever. The orchestra was a hindrance.

  • Gotta love how they play those git-fiddles! So catchy! Wished I'd have experienced it back when this was new!

  • i have should we tell him on a 45rpm record. oldie but goodie

  • I love Patti Page as well but I've only seen older photos of her. I can't believe I didn't recognize her. She has a beautiful voice too! Now this clip means even more to me.

  • The lady at the beginning of the clip was the host of the TV show. She was a big pop singing star primarily in the pre-rock and roll era back to the war years. Her name is Patti Page. Great clip here of the Everly Bros from the 50's! Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you! I had no idea that was Patti Page. My mother adores Patti Page and I do too thanks to Mom.

  • They have good music :)

  • This song is amazing! They sound better Live!

  • This is awsome, never seen this one before, great.

  • Awesome....I love going back in the time machine!

  • I'm trying to build a time machine to go back to the 60's...

  • To get back to this appearance I'm pretty certain you'd need to go back to the 50's.

  • I also love going back in the time machine. This way is a great deal safer. Don't have to worry about pushing the wrong button or the machine over heating. When should we go to now? See ya.

  • This is great! Thank you.

  • ooo this is great. its really nice seeing should we tell him live thanks for posting

  • Yeah!

"Should we tell him" was one of the first songs i played on guitar as a kid.

Loved the Chet Atkins guitar solo!

  • Wow thats great where did u get this? I love youtube it brings me back thru time!

  • it's to their credit that they can compete with the big band orchestra. They are just as versatile as Elvis was.

  • Thanks for putting this back on!

  • Oh, footage I've never seen. The Everly Brothers had to battle a TV orchestra, but they still sounded unique and awesome. Pretty hostess with a sense of humor also. Thank you.

  • She was a huge singing star in her day as well.

  • Wow, live and just love the solo on "Should We Tell Him"... priceless!! Thanks for posting this one.

  • Nice to see this back... the only live version I've ever heard of SWTH!
