  • I think you just solved my whole pull off dilemma. I've been having problems with getting the pull off note to sound louder, it would always sound like it's 50% lower in volume than the first note. Never would have thought of pushing the string downward like that.

    Seriously, thank you.

  • Hey, dude, I have the same guitar :D

  • Hello sir,

I am able to play with alternate picking the same speed as you played. And i can do even faster than that. But when it comes to pull off i really am bad at that. I never played pull off's never did i practise. I find it difficult to apply pressure and leave in order to make the pull off successful.

I just have a question that how much time does it take to be comfortable with itcoz i wanna focus on legato techniques soon.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

  • Nice little lesson... but that minor pentatonic scale just doesn't sound right to me without a b5.

  • omg wow.....at about 1:31 i went OHHHH!!!!! so simple....thank you :)

  • show muito bom!!

  • Nice lessons

    p.s. 3:55 WTF

  • Ex 5 that starts at 5:30 is cool.

  • @jondanet what he plays at the begin hm?

  • This gave me a few ideas, thank you!

  • WOw that was hot!! Thanks so much! Instant fav!

  • pathetonic (H)

  • I looked thru about 5 videos before I got to one that finally did a good job explaining how to do a pull off. Thanks Rotren

  • I love you. GOD! If I only knew it was that easy!

  • Thanks Rotren, great lesson.

  • nice lesson m8

  • Knopfler uses that technique a lot! :)

  • since ur just using the 12th fret why not just bar it and make it easier

  • Cool, i know hot to pull off now :p thanks

  • Thanks helps a lot. I suck at pull offs, a nice little exercise to get me better.

  • that looks lika a fender guitar

  • urs makes more damn sense!

other ppl just play and don't show wtf to do.

    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

    5/5

  • when i pull of or hammer on more then once i just get a silent sounde

  • Nice of you to share your time with some easy to grasp lessons.

  • is that a epi? cause it looks just like mine

  • No it's a Suhr Classic.

  • Very clear and helpful!

  • How would you perform this pull off?

    E

    B 5

    G 6p 4

The 5 and 4 are in time together. Since your striking the 6th fret and pulling off to the 4th fret with only one string then what do you do about the other string on the 5th fret? Do you hit the B string 5th fret as soon as you pull off the 6th fret to the 4th fret on the G string? Does anyone understand what the hell I'm trying to ask or say?

  • That's doable man :) Just try not to hit the b string while doing your pull off.

  • thanks for the lesson =)

  • great!

  • great vid! very helpful. thanx :d

  • Good to see ya. Your videos are like an old friend.

  • welcome back rotren

  • nice to see you back!

Btw, what is you distortion/overdrive? does it come from your amp or a pedal??

  • I used a Mack Heatseker 18 tube amp and a Cool Cat Distortion pedal.

  • cool cats are the shit.

  • Thanks! Yes, it is a Suhr Classic, got it a few months ago. Fantastic instrument - I'm super happy with it.

  • New Guitar ?

  • nice seeing you back on the lesson track. As ever a simple and convenient instruction
