@chrisgrinhard well that goes with for any programming language in the wrong hands would be prone to bugs, and who says bugs are bad? we all learn from our mistakes and no code is perfect, c is good but very painful to deploy, python on the other hand is easy and powerful and can intergrate for instance in C [cpython] ..its worth a while as u might agree... bur if u still using the 8085 processors hehe then by all means stick to C
Thanks Nick. You got me interested through the first video, and now here I am having finished this Course. Looking forward to using Python in Maya and Nuke and a lot of other Procedural stuff. Thanks for your Enthusiasm. :)
Thanks google and Mr.Parlente. I've learned python thanks to you. hope you'll do many tutorial like this. the best tutorial i've ever watched. thanks once again
I went through the entire series, and Nick is one of the better instructors I've heard (and I've been taking classes my entire life)
I think it's funny how the first video has 282,000 views, and the last one only 23,000. Reminded me of the first semester of comp-sci when 90% of the people decided computer programming wasn't for them.
In addition to this series, I recommend the Python 3000 talk, even if you never intend to do anything with Python 3 -- you learn quite a bit about Python 2.x by listening to it url:
This series was exceptional! Nick is exactly the type of personality I learn best from when it comes to technology, and he offered a very inviting introduction to an unfamiliar language.
I wish there were more exercises available; I'm dying for new problems to solve with what I've learned.
1. Can you also publish Python Object Oriented Programming Tutorial? Operator overloading, Abstract Super Class, Decorator, Singleton Class implementation?
2. Can you please publish any Django training too? Thanks!
Thanks for this great lecture. Especially the exercises were tons of fun. I totally recommend this class for everyone who really wants to improve on his creativity and productivity and in the end it's all about productivity isn't it? Thx google and Mr. Parlante!
thank you very much. i think you are doing a really good thing, because giving away free lessons is really pushing equal opportunities for everybody to be successful.
Thank you! It was a very good class set, and the exercises were quite helpful. I'd love to have seen a Day 3, covering pythonic OOP and maybe a database access library.
Thanks Nick and Google, I finished your class and was able to write a script to fix misformatted .gpx files from my phone!

I prefer c over python for desktop dev and php for web dev.
python looks so uprooted and strewn together.
It looks very easy to create bugs and spend days trying to stamp them out.

A great example of how powerful Python is Blender 3D. It's a 3D software created from scratch with Python.
Anyway, great lecture!
masteriusm 5 months ago
@masteriusm Blender is not created from scratch in Python.
It's written in C and some parts in C++.
But Blender has a Python in itself as a script language and the most of addons are written in Python.
Thanks Mr. Parlante and Google!

thank you for the lecture. really good. i can see python is much more friendly to program for a lot of stuff like a sys admin would do than perl.
i feel i have a good idea about how to write most of the scripts i would need as a sys admin already after these lectures. thanks!
