  • @tyme4mike Gordon Lightfoot may be a good pop singer, but Pete Townshend and The Who were and still are the best rock band ever to play on a stage or record music. So if you don't like this song or The Who or Pete Townshend then as Pete would say: "Fuck off and get your sorry ass out of my sight".

  • only love knows how to appreciate this song

  • musical perfection on earth

  • Out on the endless wire..out on the endless wire..out on the - you gotta be kidding me? He sings the same two or three lines fifty times with some lyrics that make absolutely no sense and he's supposed to be great? Endless Wire by Gordon Lightfoot..now THAT'S a great album by a GREAT singer and lyricist. Townsend sounds washed up and this is his effort at staying in a game that kicked him to the curb a decade ago. Time to hang up the guitar Pete. You owe nobody anything.

  • @tyme4mike Are you Fucking high?

  • @Jiggs46 Wouldn't matter if I was. Lightfoot is ten times the musician Townsend ever was or could ever hope to be. If musical ability was dynamite, Townsend wouldn't have enough to blow his fucking nose.

  • @tyme4mike Dear Gordon Lightfoot....You sir have a great sense of humor for a mental midget, now go back to being an obscure one hit wonder hack.

  • @tyme4mike lyrics involve a certain amount of interpretation by the listener. Your inability to make sense of them rests solely on you, not the writer. You have no context for the song, but more importantly you don't care to know what they mean because let's face it, you're most likely the type that mindlessly consumes music.

  • @tyme4mike Music to you must be straightforward and easy to comprehend. And although I grew up listening to Gordo "sundown you better take care, when I find you've been creepin round my back stair" doesn't actually challenge or even stir the senses. I love both songwriters but Gordo doesn't come close to PT, not even close. And why would you criticize an artist that was "kicked to the curb 10 years ago" only to then mention one that hasn't been relevant in 30. Please shoot yourself.

  • @tyme4mike Gordon Lightfoot!!!!!!!!!! Surely you can't be serious comparing the accomplishments of Gordo to Pete Townshend. Not even close Townshends material is still relevent today and still influencing bands and song writers. And if Pete wants to play and write in his sixties he has earned it. It may be different but its still Townshend and well worth listening to. He has always had the balls to try new things with his music

  • Pete is the king I don't care what anyone says. I have always loved his songs since I was a kid. He is so emotional and real. Thank you, Pete. You have touched me.

  • absolutely stunning version, much better than the album's one. Musical genius, long live Pete.

  • amazing! just wonderful!

  • i love this.

  • good

  • It's Not Enough was awesome for his age, and it could be compared to his other classics. But this song just didn't give the same impact as It's Not Enough.

  • I think he consciously sang it the way he did on the studio album, but I do kind of prefer this one since he sounds a bit more energetic.

  • townshend

  • a miracle of a song

  • Endless Wire is a very good record, no matter what the doubters say.

  • Ive bee lucky enough to see The Who on 3 occassions now and they just get better. This is one of the many great songs by Pete and for me theres no greater,Dylan couldnt hold a candle to him, Thanku Pete and Roger

  • Were can I find a long version of the song? this wonderful song is to short on the album

  • There are two versions of this on the US release cd of Endless Wire

  • aha! thank you!

  • ithink he meant a version like this with just pete playing acoustic. is that anywhere?

  • so simple,so clear, so real

  • such an amazing song from such an amazing album. long live the who!

  • Pete kicks ass! Endless wire is really some of his best work.

  • I agree, the acoustic songs especially. I could see him performing those for years to come.

  • excellent as usual.

  • Strabello davvero... Una canzone che mi ha accompagnato in migliaia di momenti, un video che conosco meglio di me stesso...Grazie Pete! Grazie The Who...

  • For a man that can't sing, this is fantastic! Love this song and Pete is a genious. The Who are great!

  • excuse me! this man can sing!

  • probably better than Roger.

  • @foppa123 fuck off and die in a fire.

  • @Iceman1234aa are you a 10 yr old retard? I complimented the band, you stupid douchbag.

  • yep, they've still got it!

  • Pete and company helped us all get through the years when we thought we couldn't. We held to the music while they held on to us.

It's never too late to say:

Thank you Pete, Thank you Roger, Thank you OX, Thank you Keith.

  • Pete is like wine, he gets better with age same with my man Roger. Long live The Who I hope if there is justice in the world The Who makes another album.

  • i was supposed to see them live last year in san antonio, but they cancelled and never rescheduled because of daltrey's bronchitis. i hope they tour again soon!

  • You and me both

  • I have to disagree with you omeathkathy. This is the best Who album since Quadraphenia, (after this would be Who Are You). I agree that this should have been the first single.

  • Should have been first single from the album.

  • Endless Wire- Brilliant work by Pete, top who album/CD since Who's Next. Had the pleasure to see them twice over the past year and took my 21 and 16 year olds... They were speechless, 2 hours of total bliss! Thanks for all the great years of music Pete and Roger...

  • loved endless wire. awesome cd.

  • dear pete ! please stay on this ol ´ planet for a long long time - you are needed here !

  • how is it possible that this man has never bored me one single minute in 20 years ? he dont give a damn to risk it all, artistically, and that´s the sign of the great artist, isn´t it ????

  • the who it dont get no better

  • Im just glad I got to see him in the flesh, twice. Definently gave me my first spiritual moment.

  • wow pete townshend has contributed so much to rock n roll ,he is my idol .his lyrics are the bestest in the whole world

  • Wow...Pete's voice has really improved since the old days. He's less squeaky, more Daltrey-esque. Nice song, anyway.

  • LOVE IT

  • thats a nice guild 12 string...i love his gibson pj900..i thinkn thats what they're called

  • I agree, the material on the latest album is the best townshend has written since 73 and roger sings well, Endless wire will be a classic.

  • Pete & Roger have gone full circle. Endless Wire is A Masterpiece!

Are you on your wire yet?

  • I've got endless wire... it's a great album. Buy it;)

  • Someone should warn him about the dangers of jowl implants... Great song though!

  • lol. nope not yet. but i really really want it, so i'm mithering my mum and dad to get it me. i'm not waiting till christmas!

  • Anybody else got the new cd? It rules more than Hitler in Germany, 1939

  • that joke was in horrible tastes and yes i have the album its really good love the whole thing

  • Its a shame roger isnt thirty years younger, and thunderfingers and moonie arent around no more...then this would be one of the best ever.

  • the new albums up there, not as good as my generation but pretty damn close
