Whenever I try to make an utau sing with a v (example: never), it sounds really fuzzy :/. The same thing happened to me with the letter se, but I fixed it by added a quick set the end. Any help? :D Thanks!
@annamaeblythe Ok, so they've said that Defoko is the first, but that's not explaining why I'm wrong. Get out of my face, and have a nice day. I'm sick of trying to prove a point and have people constantly tell me that I'm wrong with no proof. I don't care that I'm wrong, it's people saying that I'm wrong because I'm wrong, but not being able to prove it. End of conversation.
@hidansasukerocks27 The first Utauloid was Teto, who was an April Fool's joke. They said that she was the newest Vocaloid, but since she was a joke, obviously she wasn't. But they ended up releasing her voice anyway, and I'm pretty sure the program was created somewhere through there so to answer your question, yes, it is inspired by Vocaloid.
@KangarooSaysMeow in Teto's song 'Fake Diva' Teto said she got adopted into Utau so that means she wasn't the first. and also, Defoko and Momo looked like they were welcoming her into Utauloid in the same song in a pic. Defoko has a nickname(?) where she is called 'Default child'. so i'm pretty sure Defoko's the first Utauloid. Teto was just the first popular Utauloid.
And I quote from the UTAU wiki, "They were originally considered Vocaloids as well because of Teto, the pioneer (if not the first UTAUloid), being attempted to pass off as a real Vocaloid." This suggests that she is the first, but obviously doesn't come right out and say it, so I could be wrong. Also, I wouldn't use what songs of PVs say as evidence against this kind of thing, anyone can create a song or PV, not necessarily using facts.
@annamaeblythe Ok, so would someone like to explain exactly what I am wrong about? Because I'd sure like to know, and I'm sure every resource I've read would like to fix its mistakes. By the way, in that last comment, I did admit that I could be wrong, because everyone else seems to think so. You could try explaining what you mean, not just bluntly stating that I am, in fact, wrong.
@annamaeblythe I do too—just referring to those sequences where someone busts his knee and makes the kind of sound you make when that happens for way too long :)
@annamaeblythe You actually can, UTAU actually doesn't work for me when I chnage my locale and use AppLocale. Is it because I didn't do a fresh install with Japanese locale? I installed it without Japanese locale and still don't use Japanese locale. neither Applocale.
@annamaeblythe I even reinstall and everything. UTAU never works for me when I change my locale or use AppLocale. When I try opening it it just gives me repeative "Subscript Out Of Range" , well I mean by that is when I click ok it just comes up again.
@annamaeblythe I can't, not until I downloaded her romaji because I don't know how to put hiragana letters or something into UTAU and when I copy and paste it appears as question marks. Where on my channel says I post chain letters? I don't know how to put hiragana symbols into UTAU, that's why I can't use Defoko without downloading her romaji files.
@IDKBAKAIDK To copy and paste hiragana into UTAU, you need to have your keyboard set to Japanese inside and outside of UTAU. Or just download -hiragana USTs.-
@annamaeblythe I do use the Japanese keyboard, but I just think it types in random hiragana into it, thats my problem, and right now my laptop isn't working so I'm using my sister's.
@IDKBAKAIDK When you set your language bar to Japanese, at the very end of the bar, there's a little box that says "kana" click that if it's kind of highlighted and it will go back to good old romaji input (being converted into kana as you type), as opposed to actual "type a letter and a kana appears."
@annamaeblythe YES, IT DOES. I have the english pack, and i have romaji voice banks. Now, you don't live with me, and you've never seen my computer. Hence, you wouldn't know.
@AnimeKAT123 Did you know that cats actually make their cry mimic a human baby's to get you to pay attention to them and continue to pay attention to them?
this really helped a lot, I have an english patch, so it was kinda hard to understand what you meant by "go here, and here, and here" when all you were pointing to was japanese stuff that I can't reeeeaaddd but I found it, and this really helped me make my utau speak in english and sound smoother all in one! Thanks!
@Brokenstar505 There is a version of UTAU made for Mac. That is the only version of UTAU that a Mac user should use. This version of UTAU is over a year old, and Mac UTAU came out a few months ago.
@annamaeblythe -nods- mmm i see...yeah like i can make it sing but i cant change the words or anything. And i dont know japanese that well -is stupid-
@KenChanCake first you need to download winrawr to open the files, then download another voice ((momo momone is my first choice, she's good for beginers)), click on the transparent rectangle in the corner with japanese kanji in it, then a box will pop up and click on the small little button on it with "...." then open it
sorry I'm terrible at explaining things>< look up on youtube how to change your voice
you cat sounds like it's talking XD and ru is actually the proper translation, :) it helps if you record it as a Japanese speaker would. The Japanese "R" is between and L and an R so it's the simplest thing to do XD
@annamaeblythe i dunno I'm in Japanese Class and I always saw it as an in between of R and L.... but when i was telling my friends how to sing it, I said to use a soft D sound, so that makes sense XD I can't wait to get a computer with windows! It'll make me so happy to make my UTAUloids I've been designing XD
@annamaeblythe Yes, Yes, and REALLY??? Why is that not advertised everywhere??? (I searched and asked, and no one gave me any hint that there was a Mac version of UTAU anywhere!!!)
@derkwizzerds101 Your locale isn't set to Japanese. Set your locale to Japanese. To find out how to do that, google "change locale" and then your version of windows. I use XP, so I would google "change locale windows XP" After you change your locale, redownload UTAU and reinstall it.
@MrAlice25 If you open a UST that doesn't use a bank you have on your computer / a different resampler, a window will pop up. Either find the bank you want in the dropdown option, or click the "..." button next to it and search for the bank. Then when you find the folder, click on one of the WAV files and press OK, then press OK again.
OH MY GOD. THAT THING WITH THE STAR. THE THING THAT SMOOTHS THE VOICE. THAAANK YOOOUUUU SOOO MUCH FOR POINTING THAT OUT!!! I never would've found it if it weren't for you! *hug*
@YoshiFan2010 There are actually several reasons that will happen. First, your operating system NEEDS to be set to Japanese. I know how to set it to Japanese if you're using XP, and I know a video that shows how to do it if you're using Vista. Secondly, you need to make sure that you're using the same characters in the notes that you used in the file names. If you want to use a hiragana UST with a romaji UTAU, you can add aliases.
@YoshiFan2010 You can reach the locale settings by going to Control Panel>Clock, Language, and Region>Region and Language>Administrative>Change system locale. For both in Windows Vista and Windows 7, you have to be an administrator to change these settings. Warning for you: your system paths will have yen signs instead of back slashes, and any non-unicode programs will be in Japanese. Windows will not be totally in Japanese if you do this, but be warned that Microsoft IME will be in Japanese.
@annamaeblythe I did that... how do I out in voices? I gut teto and she has all these files and I don't know which one to put in or even how to out it in -_-"
Press the button next to the long white blank at the bottom of the window that had popped up and you pressed the second tab in.
Find the folder your bank is in. Open the folder and click any of the samples. press "open" (may be okay), then press the first button next to the short blank on top of the long blank. Your bank will be imported! (yay)
@YoshiFan2010 After that, just open a UST file with hiragana characters and press CTRL + A. Then press the triangular play button up next to the lyrics box. She should sing.
@YoshiFan2010 utaulibrary (dot) blogspot (dot) com has quite a few good USTs. Download a YuraHonyaP UST. Unzip it. Click (or double click) on any of the files ending in .ust, and UTAU will open it. Then, you'll be prompted to change the singer. There will be a drop down box on the screen that will pop up. If there's anything red on that screen, you'll have to change it to fix it. The singer, change to Teto. Check the box under the long white blank if it has red font in it.
@YoshiFan2010 Are you sure you set your locale to Japanese, then downloaded UTAU again and reinstalled after redownloading while using a Japanese locale?
@Kittycatnya12367 If you still need to know, I had the same problem. Instead of importing the midi, click Append and change the type of files showing to All Files and click your midi. That worked for me.
I got my UTAU to sing a full song and I have the instrumental for the background....but I'm not sure how to export /lyrics/ from UST to combine the two files to be able to listen to the song on iTunes or to post it on YouTube... help? ;A;
@smkhp13 (P), then (G). Once the WAV is exported, you can import it and the backing music into REAPER and mix them. OnlySoaa and I both have nice tutorials on how to use REAPER posted on our channels.
you kinda sound like a human luka XD

@OPH2001 Really? Because I know that she's the default voice on UTAU, but I don't actually think she's the first.

@KangarooSaysMeow in Teto's song 'Fake Diva' Teto said she got adopted into Utau so that means she wasn't the first. and also, Defoko and Momo looked like they were welcoming her into Utauloid in the same song in a pic. How'd you get your utau to sing? Mine won't sing when I put in notes O_o
YoshiFan2010 1 year ago
@YoshiFan2010 There are actually several reasons that will happen. First, your operating system NEEDS to be set to Japanese. I know how to set it to Japanese if you're using XP, and I know a video that shows how to do it if you're using Vista. Secondly, you need to make sure that you're using the same characters in the notes that you used in the file names. If you want to use a hiragana UST with a romaji UTAU, you can add aliases.

@annamaeblythe I pretty much have everything esceot for the operating system in japenese...
YoshiFan2010 1 year ago
@YoshiFan2010 For UTAU to work properly, you have to set your locale to Japanese.

@annamaeblythe I know that, but I don't know how to do it! What's locale (im sorry im so stupid >_>)

@annamaeblythe I have vista
YoshiFan2010 1 year ago
@YoshiFan2010 You can reach the locale settings by going to Control Panel>Clock, Language, and Region>Region and Language>Administrative>Change system locale. For both in Windows Vista and Windows 7, you have to be an administrator to change these settings. Warning for you: your system paths will have yen signs instead of back slashes, and any non-unicode programs will be in Japanese. Windows will not be totally in Japanese if you do this, but be warned that Microsoft IME will be in Japanese.

@YoshiFan2010 ... uh. Alright, to import your bank for the first time, go to (T), then (O) (tool, option, I think.)
Click the second tab on the top of the window that pops up.
Press the button next to the long white blank at the bottom of the window that had popped up and you pressed the second tab in.

@annamaeblythe What UST file??
YoshiFan2010 11 months ago
@YoshiFan2010 utaulibrary (dot) blogspot (dot) com has quite a few good USTs. Download a YuraHonyaP UST. Unzip it. Click (or double click) on any of the files ending in .ust, and UTAU will open it. Then, you'll be prompted to change the singer. There will be a drop down box on the screen that will pop up. If there's anything red on that screen, you'll have to change it to fix it. The singer, change to Teto. Check the box under the long white blank if it has red font in it.

@annamaeblythe what do I do if the ust's are all RARs? I can't unzip it, do I need another program?
YoshiFan2010 11 months ago
@YoshiFan2010 I use WinRar. You do need another program to unzip RARs.

I got my UTAU to sing a full song and I have the instrumental for the background....but I'm not sure how to export /lyrics/ from UST to combine the two files to be able to listen to the song on iTunes or to post it on YouTube... help? ;A;
smkhp13 1 year ago
@smkhp13 (P), then (G). Once the WAV is exported, you can import it and the backing music into REAPER and mix them. OnlySoaa and I both have nice tutorials on how to use REAPER posted on our channels.
