Man, this really sounds like music written for a Square RPG from the 1990s. I really do wish you the best out there with opportunities for game music writing professionally.
I don't know how FL Studio works, but there's a utility called snesbrr that can apply gaussian filtering to .wav files that makes them sound SNES-ish.
@coatlesscarl Thanks for the heads up, Carl. I tried the utility and it didn't seem to work with my Windows 7 setup, but I'm not too concerned. I'm fairly satisfied with the timbre of these samples. As long as they sound akin to cheesy, old MIDI instruments, I'll be happy.
@Kevvviiinnn I wasn't meaning to bash the sound of your samples, I just thought I'd mention it, since it saves me hours of SNES-ifying samples. Shame it didn't work out for you.
@coatlesscarl In that case, I'm sorry I got so defensive. I can be a bit cynical sometimes. Again, thanks for your thoughtfulness and thanks for responding civilly, despite how I misinterpreted your intentions.
@ranma814 Very cool! It's apparently a brand new editor and not just an RTP, so it looks like it may be worthwhile to wait until it gets released in English before I start working on the game. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
@TheIncredibleMasterE If by "invited" you mean "be represented in the game as a character with his own theme," then yes.

I mean, I know we aren't too close, but we never talk as much as I would like to...
