  • I definitely agree! She´s the best!

  • that one girl had cone bra's way before madonna.she looked bizarre like lady gaga does.

  • i don't know why everything is terrible hasn't labeled this video yet. what is this i don't even..

  • I doubt you'd see this anywhere close to mainstream today...

  • Killer song. Back in my college days, a girlfriend accused me of using sex as a weapon. Sadly, that does not happen anymore. Thanks for posting, and making me feel for 4:15 like 19 again.

  • is that pat herself licking the ice cream in the polka dot bikini? if it is man...where'd she grow those titties? better bod than her clothes reveal!

  • Sadly Pat's "WORDS" went on deaf ears.... we are so over blown w/ sex - figuratively in media that it has no meaning. Maybe the human race will mature mentally past adolescense but, not holding my breath for that one...I challenge society for that surprise

  • THREE THINGS TO SAY BESIDE THAT: HOLLY SHIT XD

  • her video's are just a good as the songs.james bond thing was cool.the rest was crazy.

  • When this was released in England I didn't know whether to buy the 7", the 12" or the album (Seven The Hard Way). In the end I bought all three!!! FANTASTIC song and video. My favourite all-time PB song.

  • Pat hit #28 in Billboard, 1-18-86. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Shalom, Pat! Have a great week!

  • I absolutely love this video! Pat Benatar is infinitely more talented than any of the girls you see on TV today. Pat has never needed to do anything crazy or stupid to get attention. A lot of today's celebrities should take a lesson from this! It's tasteful and fun without being a sick, twisted, and pathetic mess like Lady Gaga or Beyonce.

  • sex ses sexyyyy pat! et très années 80!!

  • saw Pat on Tuesday night in Philly...at 58 she has lost very little, age has been infintely better to her than most 80s rockers. She is a world class talent, and when you see her live, you forget just how many top 40 hits she had - the set list was a monster!

  • @smitchix1 yeah. i got to see for free in the NY on her opening, and she seemed like she hadn't aged much.

  • OH MAN! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • I love how towards the end of the video, Pat puts a picture of herself up from the early days when she was marketed as a sex symbol. She looks at it and shakes her head.

  • Although free love was no longer around in the 80's with the scares placed upon that generation with the AIDS epedemic this song rings true! It was not uncommon to go to alot of parties and always score every weekend with a new girl! I miss the 80's! I am glad I was able to be there through high school and college! There will never be a better decade again!

  • just golden times.

  • Pat Benatar is one of the only singers who doesnt get wasted every night. She is not a slut. She is not a drunk. And she has kids she loves and she has only been married once.

  • This song is a very great and deep song. Its about rape. Its very sad. Im 11 year old girl. I take this seriously. Its true. People out there dont care if they hurt you.

  • @pikafan21 Sorry but this song is not about rape. It is about peer pressures and using this in a relation to prolong the relationship or begin one. You may want to look at your local laws and read the wording of rape as defined by your states legislatures. This song which is much older than you are I remember on the radio when it came out. It should be a lesson to the ladies to not fall for a guys every swift line he throws at them to get them in bed.

  • @msheron I agree with you that this song isn't about rape, but your interpretation isn't completely correct either. This song is a thinly veiled criticism by Pat towards her record company at the time, Chrysalis Records. Chrysalis was demanding that Pat "sex up" her image to sell records, whereas Pat wanted to rely up on her vocal abilities instead. Pat is accusing the record company of using "sex as a weapon" as a tool of manipulation against her.

  • i have a cousin who is called Pat (Patricia) but the poor does not even know the existence of Pat Benatar... i think that i'm on a mission... is there a Madonna without a Pat Benatar... it's not so sure.... Pat had cut all along the jungle of pop before the others wild 80s female....she was already there to give subtile lessons...

  • brilliant

  • I love this song, its 80's at the peak of video hits btw thats her husband playing the guitar, I like when she's in the blond wig 1:57

  • i miss the 80's

  • ah fuck they had a put an advert of that bitch gaga right before pat. Almost puked, especially with that bieber background image shit. I mean wtf is wrong with those vevo people.

  • Rudolph Valentino, 2:55, top row of tvs. : )))) But, i remember this video in heavy rotation on Mtv way back in the day. ;)

  • Could have commented on loads of her stuff, but she is the bizzness, great 80s idol...

  • who is the guy in the loincloth?? Anyone know??

  • ''With looks that kill and a mind that's twisted'' -The smaller the understanding of the situation, the more pretentious the form of expression.- Therefore, 'Stop using sex as a weapon' :)

  • In the late 90's, Hillary should have told this to Bill Clinton. He would not have been impeached. Excellent tune by the way.

  • Fabulous video, a great song and Vocalist, I enjoy watching and listing to this beautiful woman,**********

  • FORGET GAGA & BRITTNEY! BENATAR RULEZ!!!!!!

  • sexykatie90 any more videos like this? Pat Benatar - Sex As A Weapon

  • This is about my favorite Pat Benatar song! Thanks for posting!

  • I'm 19 and I luv Pat Benatar! She's awesome!

  • a classy lady :) i will always love her voice :)

  • This video was also a small slap in the face to Chrysalis Records for giving her such a hard time early on (and for so long...) about how she "needed to look" in order to be liked and taken seriously in the music world in order to sell records.

"LOVE IS MORE THAN A ONE WAY REFLECTION!"

  • @robfergusonjr shut up and stop stereotyping people

  • @robfergusonjr Dude, go fuck yourself with that misogynistic comment. Women are not property. Men need to get over that idea.

  • @robfergusonjr

You are in desperate need of negative attention, aren't you? Pathetic.

  • still one of my favorites she does her husband is the main guitarist he's music genuis behing all their songgs he's handsome also

  • I totally loved this song AND video. (I haven't seen the video in 25 years, but I remember it.) That "bop" dance step was rather popular in the 80s (Belinda Carlisle did it too...)

  • I forgot she did this video song , a relavant message!!

  • Where has this music gone ???

  • Pat Benatar and Joan Jett 1980's rock babes.

  • Yes, the good ol' days when MTV was MUSIC Television and not the cr@p that it is today.

  • @GaryG660 : You got that right! I don't know why MTV changed it's format; it's just terrible now.

  • @GaryG660 I found myself thinking today...what does "Jersey Shore" have to do with music television?

  • I love the way the song/video has a kind of weariness and disapproving tone to it - about sleazy marketing and sex selling everything - whilst at the same time musically sounding like it would not be out of place at a poll dancing establishment!

    Love that funky bassline...

  • 80s videos like this were ahead of their time......todays directors/ producers of videos could never come up with anything this good, even with all the best equipment they have these days.....

  • @driver409 Well said, could not put any better myself.

  • Certainly one of her catchiest singles. Always loved this video, as well as the ironic way she poked fun at her early album covers.

  • Cher-rox-it-Tina-Turner-commands-the-masses-Madonna-keeps-u-wanting-more-but-Patis-n-a-univrse-all-=by-herself-there-is-no-comparison-2-the-lady-she-is-just-totaly-out-all-by-herself-can't-tuch-her

  • I wish Pat would perform this song live again......

  • @retroforever Me too! I just saw her and REO Speedwagon in concert the other night and she was amazing but she never plays her later hits :(

  • Great song and video! Thanks for putting it up!

  • This video reminds me of my puberty years. Thanks Pat!

  • Bollux ! Just getting into my teens in the early eighties was fuckin' fantastic especially being a Rocker ! In England ! Got shit about 89 - 90 !

  • The record company didn't give them enough time to finish their albums, they were on a strict every 9 months new album schedule and by the time this 7th album, aptly titled 7 the Hard Way was released, things got bad between them and Chrysalis. It's all in Pat's new book, Between a Rock & a Heart Place. Great insight into being female in the 80's music scene. The album only had 9 songs and most were not to their satisfaction. Definitely affected sales as well as the charts.

  • Hit #5 rock, #28 pop in Billboard. God bless!

  • pop art at its best 80's 4ever

  • This is my favorite Pat Benatar song

  • this video reminds me of max headroom.lol cool song loved pat

  • 80's music is so awesome compared to todays utter garbage

  • The class ! Made in Pat Benatar.. ;)

    Doc ... TCS-709 Station (France)

  • 2.20 THAT looks just like one of Madonna's Blond Ambition bustiers. Pat saw aready in mid 1980's that madge would use 'sex as a weapon'. Also she looks just like Lady Gaga so PAT was 25yrs ahead of her time. Sadly no-one listened her warnings...

  • You're right, skingerskanger, it should've peaked higher than just #28 in Billboard.

  • pat is so cute

  • I totally forgot about this song!!!! *sigh*, The summer of '84...Cindy come back and pick me up in your Plymouth Horizon, and we'll go to a USFL game in NJ...

  • Great video though I was mad at the time because this was played on the radio..when Eurythmics' "Sex Crime" was not because the word sex was used... hmm.

Great vid anyway, the security camera interferences, the product ads, the peep eyes, the crude drawings and Pat as a 70s glam goddess!

I like Pat's b&w layered clothies too, hot!

    But I hate dude...

  • This very innovative for 1985 plus it looks like Peter Cook (ex Christie Brinkley husband) at 1:02

  • I'd like to know how is it this song only made it to #28?????

  • ...well, Painted Desert it seems that didn't even charted in the 80's..!

  • The Only Consolation For This Song Only Reaching #28 Is That She Won A Grammy For It, A VERY WELL Deserved One!

  • Love those video effects that make her loo as if they took her video from the TV!

  • If you like those video effects, try watching the videos for Honeymoon Suite's "Feel It Again" and ZZ Top's "Velcro Fly". They were all directed by the same person using the same video production technique.

  • Great video loved it has a child too...this is when music meant something...

  • One of my fave videos from the '80's.

Cool song - and a very cool video.

    "STOP !".

  • What a groovy tune.

  • So cool... she's critizicing the consumer society that used (still use) the human body to sell...

  • Prostetution?

  • This was also a song about how the record labels would push her early on in her career in marketing as a sexually charged diva, which she hated.

  • For Pinky!

  • love the song. pat produced some really great music.

  • Amazing

  • Yup kids, that's basically all of the Eighties right there. :)

  • @irrikan Im 11 and I like Pat Benatar, The beatles, U2, and the rolling stones. and ima girl

  • @irrikan Oh Thank God! I was beginning to think we would have to start our own MTV again. The real one. When there were VJs.four of them y'all.

  • One of my favorite Pat songs. The video is fun!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great vid....underrated song.

  • I love Ms. Benatar!

  • Love her 'tude and voice.

  • A great song from one of my favourite female singers all time, the great Pat Banatar.

This song was one her latest hits, peak at # 28 on the Billboard Charts early in 1986.

Thank you "EMI" for posting in H.Q.
