Can you please send me info on your wiring diagram? It would be cheaper to buy 6 mots then a pole pig but I'm not shure how to connect the secondaries in series.
i have one juest like it but mine is ballasted at 15a is yours ballasted? im working on my coil right now this would make my 15th coil and biggest yet
I don't remember if they where ballasted in this video. I have used some microwave capacitors on the HV side to keep the breaker from tripping but I have never measured the actual current draw.
nice mots ,if you are very careful then these are the perfect power supplies for beginners they arent picky, infact they are downright power hungry they will eat up any power you give them, and with a single mot a simple flourescent ballast it will last you a lifetime!!!
There are only two wires from the fluorescent tube ballast. Put it in series with the mains side going to the MOT. It's just that the fluorescent tube usually draws only about 80VA. I really don't know how good they'll work at ballasting MOT's. Easiest way to ballast mot's is just by connecting another mot in series with the mains side with the secondary shorted.
i think your thinking of somethin different, cause tube ballasts have two wire that go for the power in, then about four wires that go to the two tubes
