why do alot of farms take the lambs away from their mums and bottle feed them instead of letting their mother raise them?

Believe me the farms don't want to take the lambs away from their mothers. Sometimes the mother (ewe) rejects the lamb and just doesn't want to know. Or the mother may have no milk or just plain die. Hand rearing a lamb is hard work so farmers will always try to find another mother for orphan lambs ASAP.

all the farms have a stamp for the live stock, so if the lambs go into the wrong fields the farmer knows whos stock they are. you get letters,numbers and colours....etc
