Funny story about this song. Brian joked with John, saying maybe he should play a double bass on this one. 2 days later when Brian came into the studio, John stood there with a double bass. He had taught himself to play it in 2 days. So much talent in one group.
@kutzbill I'd heard that! Impressive, huh? But, on another topic, it's sad to note what I guess was a given... Roger just can't sing like that anymore... Sigh...
Woop, my bad. I actually didn't know he did. I was just basing that off the fact that Brian sang it originally and he sang it as a solo acoustic song on the Return of the Champions tour. I honestly like Brian's voice better for this song, though. I saw the videos of Freddie doing it and... he's excellent as usual, but Brian gives it a certain sentimentality that Freddie doesn't, and I prefer that. But just my two cents. And sorry about my lack of fact checking. :P
Roger's tambourine hits him on the head, a sign from above! Hahaha. Just in jest, of course

Roger is sitting Down. Pretty Unusual. Very Cool Version! Also, Rogers vocal parts were done on the Accordian... Interesting

not as gd without 1) freddie obviously and 2) roger singing the REALLY high section. too many musicians on stage

This comment has received too many negative votes show
But... Freddie never sang this song. It was always Brian, even in concert.

Freddie sang it live. Check out the Kampuchea, Newcastle, and Earls Court versions. Freddie sings them all.

Surely you mean this is possibly the best live version post-Freddie....!? ; )
