actually, the singapore foreign born players are people who have been playing int he S-League for many years. In words, they are like expats who come over here to work, and in time get citizenship, thus eligible to play. while not perfect, i would consider them more singaporean than the table tennis china players who are specially imported just to play table tennis. in malaysia, there are actually many foreigners playing in the M-league too, so msia could grant them citizenship as well right?
Why can't Singaporeans be proud of them? It is their choice to change their nationality and Singaporeans do not oppose it. They are proud of Singapore, to score goals for 'em and vice versa. Why in the world can't Singaporeans be proud of them?

These player wanna to make a living in Singapore so they apply for permanent resident in Singapore which mean they're wanna to be SINGAPOREAN bitch. In my case, I'm proud to be in Singapore not like other countries which are so unstable and poor. Proud baby! Higher education than other pigs in other south east asian countries.
