I've never understood why people on Survivor have emotional breakdowns every time they see their families. It's been a couple weeks. That's a fairly minor amount of time for an adult to be away from his or her family. If it had been a couple years, like it was for Lydia in Guatemala, then I'd understand, but while I love my parents, I for one don't weep my eyes out everytime I go to their place for dinner, and most normal people are the same.

There's intense pressure to perform, very little food, and contestants are surrounded by people who are constantly lying and they KNOW would stab them in the back if they felt it would get them farther in the game.
After all that, seeing someone who they love and can trust would be a huge relief. I can understand why almost every contestant in Survivor has gotten emotional.
